Teaching Practice Task 3: Noting Teaching and Learning Strategies

Program link: This task is associated to the guidelines of the course EPC 3403 – Practicum 3a (Course
Learning Outcome 1 –planning the lesson, 2- designing and creating resources, 3 – maintaining a
positive environment, 4 – considering individual differences and 5 – timing)

Objective: You will Identify and assess teaching and learning strategies. At the end of each day, you
will note a teaching strategy that you or the teacher used that you consider very useful and you
would want to use again. This strategy can deal with the planning of the lesson, the use of materials
and technology, the review of prior learning, the motivation of the children, the presentation of the
materials, the appropriateness of the practice activities, classroom management strategies, timing
strategies, reviewing the lesson, general assessment of the learning or if you are lucky enough to talk
to your teacher, her reflection on her lesson.

Day 1: Subject: Science Learning Outcome: Parts of body

Strategy: Collaborative learning


Student works as group to figure out the parts of body and draw them

Day 2: Subject: English Learning Outcome: Spelling test


Strategy: Independent work strategy
Teacher use this strategy to check the student understanding of the lesson by
let them work by them self

Day 3: Subject: Math Learning Outcome: Adding two digits numbers


Strategy: Management strategy
Class dojo to give the student points or take points depend to the student behaviour
,after that she gives the student who get 100 point a gift.
Day 4: Subject: English Learning Outcome: Punctuation mark
Strategy: Management strategy
My MST use a lot of management strategies such as sticker chart, she uses it
when they work as groups.

Day 5: Subject: Math Learning Outcome: subtraction


Strategy: Timing strategy
I use a timing strategy I use a website with some very attractive timers like a bomb

explodes at the end of time or bell ringing during the end of time .My MST like the
website and she decide to use it at all her lessons instead of calling the student and
