● New syllable type: consonant -le
● The consonant -le exception

-This syllable type is always the last syllable in a word with


more than one syllable (multisyllabic) and it always has
three letters.
-Two of those three letters are always the same: le.
-For example:
● -gle (the gl forms a blend because the e is silent)
● The e exists in this syllable type because every
syllable needs a vowel.

The consonant -le exception is -stle.


● Whenever a word ends in -stle, the t and the e are
silent
● For example:
○ castle

Split and mark the following words:


● rifle

● wiggle

● whistle
