Challenges of implementation of smart school in Malaysia
Lack of technological equipment
Some of the school in the rural area did not have the sufficient ICT equipment. Moreover, there are some factor such as network cannot connected, server maintenance and no electricity supply happen in rural area. Besides that, limited of computer provided and the facilities that are less efficient make a burden towards teachers and students. The ability of teachers and staff to handle ICT equipment In smart school, most of teacher needed to be talent in use of technologies and its integration into classroom activities in ways to enhance student’s thinking and creativity. However, not all the teacher able to catch up all the skills and knowledge about how to use the ICT equipment although they have already take some training session. Teacher still need to improve their skills to improve their knowledge and skills in application of the technologies. Lack of motivation from student to use the technologies in learning process. Although most of the children in nowadays have the smart phone in their daily routine, but they did not use the technologies in learning process. They just use it in entertainment. They hope all the materials about education provide by teachers without show an effort to find it by themselves. The student-centered education need the students to play an important role in determine the direction of their learning by participation and activities.
