This document describes a cloud-based web automatic attendance system using PHP that was developed by students at the Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. ABSTRACT
An automated attendance system consists of a web system for entire organization to record
attendance. Each class room or faculty has its/his own login. On login the class faculty can see
a list of students or members registered under it. The faculty may take the attendance and mark
the present students using checkbox provided in front of every student number. This
attendance sheet is stored and sent to the central administrator of the organization and stored
there. The system has an admin login. The admin may check all attendance data, search for
particular student attendance by number. Student can also search his/her own attendance by
entering his/her details in students login.

EXISTING SYSTEM
In the existing system, only the faculty had the right to access it. The stundents
cannot check their attendance whenever they want. The data can be accessed
easily and randomly by the faculty.

DRAWBACKS:
 The only disadvantage is that every class requires a computer or a laptop to access the
system.
 There should also be a Wi-Fi or net connection available in every class.

PROPOSED SYSTEM
In the proposed system, the students are also given access to it only to check their
attendance. So the students will have knowledge about their missed classes. It enhances the
speed of the performing attendance task easily. Data accuracy is maintained.

ADVANTAGES:
 It excludes the use of paper work and human efforts.
 The system is helpful as it generates a systematic overall report of every class
attendance.
 It maintains the records in a large database instead of conventional method of
maintaining register which further simplifies the process of searching for a particular
record.
 User may easily get attendance history of a particular student.
 The system introduces a manageable and systematic approach of maintain attendance
records.
