Task 3

The document summarizes a shared reading lesson on the book "BROWN BEAR". The teacher had all students sit on the carpet as she read the story aloud. The teacher asked questions about the story to help students understand reading strategies. The second part of the document describes a guided reading lesson where a small group of students sat at a table as the teacher guided them through reading the story themselves. The teacher helped students as they read and corrected any mistakes.

phonics did the teacher focus on?

a) What strategies/activities did the teacher use to help the students

understand the concept being taught?
The teacher focused on the students phonological awarnesss with the song of sound or
singing and dancing in class while using phonics, the teacher would have a special corner
for the students to have papers to write the letters that they know whenever they want

2. Were there any initial/medial/final sounds, punctuation, sight words or word families that were
covered during the lesson? If they were, select (a); if they were not, select (b).

a. What was the purpose of teaching these concepts. Explain its importance.
The students would understand how to pronounce the letter once they figure out how to
say it and reading would b so much easier if they knew the punctuation
