Lab experiment 8

Mail Merge using MS Word

Steps

click on the start button on your desktop> select MS Office > select MS Word > MS word
will open, select blank document

Save your file with an appropriate name like- College Induction invitations. Go to File menu
> Save as> select the file name and location and click save.

1. Go to mail merge option in mailing tab

2. Select step by step mail merge wizard

3. Select the document type- letters

Click next: starting document

4. Select the document- Use the current document

5. Select recipients.

Click Type a new list. Click Create

Type the recipient list- Name, address and add ward name option. Click ok, once list is
complete. It gives you an option to save the list. Save the list by any name in your
computer.

6. Write your letter

7. Add greetings, address and ward name in the letter

8. Preview your letters

9. Complete the merge

(Dear, First and last name)

«AddressBlock»

(address line 1 and 2)

Sir/Madam,

Subject: Call letter for college induction of your ward- «ward_name»

We are delighted to inform you that we are introducing our college to you and your ward
through an induction program. Kindly attend the college induction program of SS college,
Gurugram on 1st August, 2019.Bring all the educational certificates of your ward along.
