CN-235 MAINTENANCE MANUAL

INTRODUCTION

1. General

This manual has been prepared in accordance with ATA Specification 100.

2. Content

This manual contains information on systems and units of equipment to the

level required to enable the mechanic to service the aircraft. It allows the
systems to be understood and maintained to a safe standard and to remove,
install, and test units of the systems. Servicing instructions for units
removed from the aircraft are contained in the relevant Component
Maintenance Manual.

3. Using the manual

A. Chapterization

Chapters are allocated in accordance with ATA Specification 100.

B. Chapter Breakdown

Each chapter is broken down into sections or system :

Example:

30-00-00 Ice and Rain Protection

30-10-00 Airfoil

30-20-00 Air Intakes

30-30-00 Pitot and Static Ice Protection

Each section is broken down into subsections or subsystems:

Example:

30-10-00 Airfoil

30-11-00 Pneumatic System

30-12-00 Angle of Attack Sensor-Ice Protection

Effectivity: All
INTRO Page 1
Jun. 30/03
CN-235 MAINTENANCE MANUAL

Each subsection is divided into subjects:

Example:

30-11-11 De-Icer Boots

30-11-12 Water Separator

30-11-13 Regulator Valve

General descriptive and maintenance information for a complete system is

contained in the pages with the the first element number, eg.
30-00-00 - Ice and Rain Protection.

When a system is broken down into subsystems, descriptive and

maintenance information will be found on the pages with the first and
second element numbers, eg. 30-11-00 - Pneumatic System.

Removal/Installation information of specific units in a system will be

found on the pages with all three element numbers, eg. 30-11-11 -
De-Icer Boots. In certain chapters, Removal/Installation information of
units within a system that are general rather than specific will be
found on the pages with the first and second element numbers,
eg. 25-40-00 Lavatory Unit.

C. Tab Dividers

The manual is separated into chapters using yellow tab dividers. Each
divider indicates the corresponding chapter number and title.

D. Page Numbers

Page number blocks are allocated for different topics, the pages being
numbered consecutively:

Pages 1 thru 99 - Description and Operation

Pages 101 thru 199 - Troubleshooting

Pages 201 thru 299 - Maintenance Practices

Pages 301 thru 399 - Servicing

Pages 401 thru 499 - Removal/Installation

Pages 501 thru 599 - Adjustment/Test

Pages 601 thru 699 - Inspection/Check
