Judgement Criteria
Three judges shall be appointed for each event

The chart can be prepared according to the ideas which are related to
each category in the curriculum. If one chart is not sufficient to accom-
modate ideas two or maximum three charts may be arranged. Maximum
three charts using only one side may be prepared. Each chart should be in
72x56 CM in size. Charts can be modified and beautified with colours. One
chart may be used for only ONE information/Idea.

Competition will be on the spot so as to identify and encourage the real

mathematical talents of the students.

Maximum time for the competition is 3 Hrs

Participants are NOT supposed to use any ready-made materials brought

from outside. (Viz calculator, Digital diary, PC photos, Mobile phones, any
shaped paper cuttings & etc.)

All the items required for the competition should be brought by the students.
Items to be used for construction will be certified by the invigilator as it was
not shaped in advance for the competition.

1. Number Chart: Digital patterns, sequence of numbers and different

kinds of numerals and speciality of numbers are well explained in this
chart.

2. Geometrical chart: This chart focuses on different geometrical forms

which are linked together. It can be prepared by using the repository of
geometric pattern; Lineation, tessellation, spiraling, etc. It can be decorated
by using different colours.
3. Other charts: This is not included either in number charts or in geomet-
rical charts. History of mathematics or mathematical ideas or mathemati-
cians or graphs can be included in this category. This should be a mathe-
matical fact chart other than depicting the pure history of mathematics.

4. Still Model: A mathematical model is a description of a system using

mathematical concepts and language. A model may help to explain a sys-
tem and to study the effects of different components, and to make predic-
tions about behaviour.

5. Working Model: This is to be presented through activities. Any type of

models can be prepared to explain or present the information or ideas.

6. Pure Construction: This means to draw shapes, angles or lines ac-

curately. These constructions use only compass, straightedge (i.e. ruler)
and a pencil. This is the “pure” form of geometric construction: no numbers
involved. The drawing may be accommodated in a single chart.
