Presentation (language and content objectives, comprehensible input, strategies, interaction, feedback):
● The language and content objectives will be addressed on the board in the beginning of the lesson.
● Vocabulary will be introduced to students in the beginning of the lesson to make sure they understand

● The students will be rotating stations to develop knowledge of each borough in NYC.
○ During each station, the students will also be instructed to go on google earth on their computer
to explore each borough more.
■ They can look at the two points of interest listed or they can find others.

Extension:
Students will write a paragraph about which borough they would like to live in or visit in NYC. They will use
evidence from the stations they learned throughout the lesson.
Alternate Materials: Use as many materials needed to make content comprehensible.

1. Give pictorial support, pictures, and videos.

1. We are incorporating visuals as a strategy to build students knowledge and
vocabulary help visual learners as well.
2. Videos and photos can help students follow directions and create their own
directions. This helps visual and auditory learners and the idea roots from
language objectives.
3. Using hands-on activities helps kinesthetic learners. Students can explore the
boroughs using google earth. Students are also instructed to sort the facts/pictures
for each borough. Using this strategy, we will have students apply their
knowledge on how to breakdown the city and learn through application.
4. Writing a story helps with scaffolding information from prior knowledge and for
students to prove what they have learned. We will be taking information students
already know and building on their ZPD in order to understand new words within
our lesson.
2. Go to your corner activity
1. We will be using centers to conduct our lesson for students to prove what they
know. Centers are in different areas of the classroom and students will switch to
build on their knowledge. In order to help students learn, there will be a separate
center for each borough.
