The fire detection and alarm system is designed to alert occupants to emergencies so they can evacuate to safety. Fire alarms are found in public buildings and offices and sound when a fire is detected to warn people to evacuate. The system includes detectors that trigger sounders to alert people, and may also connect to a central station to notify the fire brigade. The central control panel receives signals from all detectors and provides system status information.

Fire Detection and Alarm System - is designed to alert us to an emergency so that we can take action to

protect ourselves, staff and the general public.

Fire alarms are found in Offices, Factories, and public buildings, they are a part of our everyday
routine but are often overlooked until there is an emergency at which point, they might just save our
lives. Whatever the method of detection is, if the alarm is triggered, sounders will operate to warn
people in the building that there may be a fire and to evacuate.
The fire alarm system may also incorporate a remote signal system which could then alert the
fire brigade via a central station.
In this article, we will have a look at the structure and types of the “Fire Alarm Systems”.
The “Brain” of the system is the Fire Alarm Control Panel. It is the central hub for all of the
detector signals to be wired to and provides a status indication to the users.

Background music systems and commercial sound system installations - by installing the correct type of
background music system, these will enhance the atmosphere in a range of venues and shouldn’t be too
obtrusive and should remain in the background and by using small speakers throughout your venue or a
distributed ceiling speaker installation you can achieve the desired end result.
Public address system - commonly known as a PA system, is an apparatus including a microphone and
loudspeakers used for broadcasting (as to an audience in an auditorium)
It i s a network of sound devices that can play sound to several people. They are often used to make
announcements in large buildings or neighbourhoods. In big spaces outdoors, amplifiers and loudspeakers
have to be very loud. Otherwise the volume would be too small to be heard by everybody.

Telephone System - comprises multiple telephones used in an interconnected fashion that allows for
advanced telephony features such as call handling and transferring, conference calling, call metering and
accounting, private and shared voice message boxes, and so on. A telephone system can range from just
a few telephones in a home or small business up to a complex private branch exchange (PBX) system used
by mid-sized and large businesses.
Security Alarm - is a system designed to detect intrusion – unauthorized entry – into a building or other
area. Security alarms are used in residential, commercial, industrial, and military properties for protection
against burglary (theft) or property damage, as well as personal protection against intruders. Security
alarms in residential areas show a correlation with decreased theft. Car alarms likewise help protect
vehicles and their contents. Prisons also use security systems for control of inmates.

CCTV (Closed-circuit television) - is a TV system in which signals are not publicly distributed but are
monitored, primarily for surveillance and security purposes. CCTV relies on strategic placement of
cameras, and observation of the camera's input on monitors somewhere. Because the cameras
communicate with monitors and/or video recorders across private coaxial cable runs or wireless
communication links, they gain the designation "closed-circuit" to indicate that access to their content is
limited by design only to those able to see it.
