Rules and Cons

The document outlines rules and consequences for student behavior in a classroom. It discusses using positive reinforcement by pointing out good behavior to influence poor behavior. A chart lists rules such as not using computers for games, putting phones away during class, not talking over lectures, being respectful, treating materials carefully, and entering class quietly. Consequences for breaking rules include warnings, apologies, moving seats, and losing points. The document aims to establish a respectful learning environment through discipline with dignity.

Rules and Consequences

I will follow the discipline with dignity theory by Richard Curwin and Allen Mendler.

Rather than asking students to simply obey what I say I will ask them to make the best decision

they can. In class I will also try to point out and compliment the good behavior of students to

hopefully in tern affect the actions of students behaving poorly (Curwin 2010). An example of

this would be if one student was talking during a transition in class, I would complement the

student next to them on how well they were acting. Below in Table 2 is a chart of the rules and

consequences within my classroom.
