V.1 TALK ABOUT UN

SHANE: With all these costumes and preparations, let us ask ourselves: what do we
really know about United Nations?

SHANE: Seventy-four years ago, on October 24, 1945 – a long time ago – the United
Nations, also known as the UN, was born. It has as its objective four purposes: keeping
international peace and security, fostering friendly relations among nations, achieving
international cooperation in solving international problems and promoting respect for
human rights, and serving as a center that brings nations’ efforts together in harmony.

The United Nations (UN) was the second multipurpose international organization
established in the 20th century that was worldwide in scope and membership. The UN
also has regional offices in Geneva, Vienna, and Nairobi. Its official languages
are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish.

ARTHENE: It is currently the largest international organization in existence, and it

facilitates cooperation among countries and lays the groundwork for seeking a better
world..

SHANE: That was a very informative fact, wasn’t it?

SHANE: As we all know, United Nations is composed of several countries and we are
lucky today to see those countries being portrayed by our dear students.

SHANE: And now, may I present to you, the different nation. Starting from Japan,
Egypt, USA, Korea, Poland, Hawaii, United Kingdom, Macedonia, Philippines, Puerto
Rico, France and Argentina. Representing each grade level starting from NKP to Grade
10.

ARTHENE: Thank you for that wonderful and lovely song kids! Indeed you are all small

ARTHENE: ( UN SONG )

Indeed, people may come from different nations but the important things is to be
educated so we would know and we would be aware of the differences the different
nations have. Through this, we shall maintain a peaceful and harmonious relationship
with each other.
ARTHENE: May I request everyone to gather at the center of the gymnasium.

ARTHENE: Everyone are you familiar with the song if “we hold on together” by Diana
Ross. It is not enough to just talk about the songs meaning.

SHANE: This song has brought many moral values such as, anything if we
hold on together surely we can solve it, don’t be scared, failure will make us better
and improve ourselves. Sky wont dark forever; it won’t be raining forever; it won’t light
forever and so on. In the same way, The world and our life is not easy forever or
hard. Likewise our world just like our life can be described like the taste of
food there are sour, sweet, bitter and spicy that indeed we always taste them.

SHANE: Okay everyone, along with the music let’s sing “ if we hold on together”.

X. CLOSING REMARKS

SHANE: A song no matter how beautiful it is has to come to end, but the memories and
lyrics of that song has already imprinted in our hearts and mind, so with this event. May
