My hypothesis is that the citric acid will make the bath bomb be more fizzy & bubbly.

Part 5: Designing a Process or a Procedure​ Write your finalized procedure below.


Step 1. We got all our dry ingredients and we measured them to get the right measurements.
Step 2. Next we,added all the dry ingredients together and started to mix.(citric acid, baking soda,
cornstarch)
Step 3. Then, we filled up the water in the spray bottle and spray some water on to the dry
ingredients.
Step 4. After, we added at least 3 drops of food coloring and lavender oil.
Step 5. We mixed all of those together until you can make a ball out of it.
Step 6. After we formed our shapes and put it out to be an actual bath bomb.
Step 7. Finally, we let it stay for 24 hours and it will be ready to use.

Part 6: Observations​ Describe what happened.


1st bath bomb regular recipe: When we threw the bath bomb it stated to dissolve. As we watched
more and more we saw that it didn’t fizz or make bubbles. Since it didn’t have any fizziness or
bubbles this bath bomb was not successful.
2nd bath bomb more citric acid: When we threw this bath bomb in the water it started to fizz and
bubble up. This bath bomb was successful.
3rd bath bomb mix of regular and moe citric acid: This bath bomb did the same actions as the 2nd
bath bomb did.

Part 7: Conclusion​ Was your hypothesis correct?


My hypothesis was that the citric acid would make the bath bombs more fizzy and bubbly. Yes, my
hypothesis was correct because my second bath bomb started to fizz and get bubbly. I observed and
saw that my first bath bomb with the original recipe was not successful. My second bath bomb
worked and was successful. I think my second one was successful because it had more citric acid
which helped it to have fizziness and bubbles. If I had to redo my experiment and change another
ingredient then citric acid I would change the cornstarch. I would add more cornstarch then needed.
My independent variable would be cornstarch, my dependent would be when the bath bombs start to
fizz and get bubbly. The control would be the citric acid, baking soda, lavender oil, water, the spray
bottle, kitchen scales, and the tray.
