Distinguished guests, I welcome you all to the 7th HEC outstanding Research Award Ceremony. We are
beginning this ceremony shall formally, with the name of Allah; the most beneficent and the most merciful.,
and I would like to invite Mr. Aftab Mughal to recite the verses of the holy Holy Quran, I would like to invite

Research Awards Ceremony. I am chiefly thankful to the distinguished chief guest for his gracious presencely
accepting the invitation.

It is a real honor for me to conduct this auspicious and valuable event.

As Despite the global economic struggles persist, research universities located all
over the worldworldwide are increasingly welcomingbeing called upon like never
before to and promotinge innovation, entrepreneurship and the commercialization of
research. Now, they are willing – and to demonstrate the results of their efforts in
terms of definitive economic impact.

Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, since its inception in 2002, has been
spearheadeding the research process in universities, which has been a majoronly
source for innovation, and besides, it haswhich has led to the resulted in indigenous
research creation and growth in the indigenous research in the fields of natural and
social sciences.

In order to foster research and development in various fields of academia, HEC has
launched “Outstanding Research Awards”.

So far, six Awards Ceremonies have been organized and , wherein, 213 awards have
been given to the eminent research contributorsconferred. In the 7th HEC Outstanding
Research Awards, we received about 500 applications in four different categories, out
of which, 52 applicants are selected for the awards through a transparent and,
competitive and acceptable mechanismprocedure. After the evaluation and scrutiny of
all the applications, an in-depth evaluation ofour honorable judges evaluated the
Rresearch work is made by the Judges. Based on their judges’ evaluations, the
Committee has finalizesd the winnersand selects the awards.

I pray to Almighty Allah that Hehe may bless us with the clear and right understanding of his
message and bestow upon us the courage and desire to learn the Holy Quran.
