What Are The Advantages and Disadvantages of Using

The document discusses the advantages and disadvantages of broad/inclusive versus narrow/exclusive definitions of globalization. A broad definition takes a more comprehensive perspective but risks neglecting specific constituents, while a narrow definition focuses only on its own limited view and can start trade wars by excluding others. Both have merits depending on the situation. Defining globalization is important to understand how nations interconnect on issues like trade, but definitions should not be too narrow or broad.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using (a)

broad and inclusive definitions and (b) narrow and

exclusive definitions of globalization?

Both type of views have their advantages and disadvantages in a globalized world. A broad view and
inclusive definition can see from a more perspective point of reference when it comes to how we all
became connected to each other. It can distinguish all the benefits and has the advantage of seeing
further ahead to avoid future problems. It does have the potential to neglect its own constituents at
certain times because of its tendency to look outward.

A narrow and exclusive definition of globalization focuses on one spot, particularly its own. It has a very
limited point of view because of the lack of reference. It fails to recognize the role of other parties as a
potential partner. In global trade, a nation that takes narrow point of view usually starts the trade wars
because it excludes all others. It usually has the support of its own constituents and is commended for
taking a protectionist stand.

What is the importance of defining globalization?

Globalization is the free movement of goods, services and people across the world in a seamless and
integrated manner. Globalization can be thought of to be the result of the opening up of the global
economy and the concomitant increase in trade between nations.

Do you agree with the idea that the contemporary world is

characterized by liquidity?

Yes, we must need a drinking water to live , all people must need a water for their own, dryness in the
world is not good for all kinds of living things. you are also need a water or drinks. the world evolved
from a dry nature and become a ice ball earth then the sun is comes to melted the ice ball earth and
became a liquid for all liviing organisms.

Yes, I agree that our contemporary world is characterized by liquidity. In the financial term, liquidity
means quickly selling and purchasing products with use of money or credit.

The media and internet are the fastest transaction to easily get the market for items. This is evident on
how people acquire items.
Are societies in the world becoming more similar
(Homogenous) or more different (Heterogeneous)?

Societies in the world are becoming more Homogenous because of greater

mobility and the use of technology.

In today’s era, we see different types of cultures. Every country knows by

their own cultures. Nowadays every countries culture getting a more
parallel than past. There are many reason as well as many advantages or
a disadvantages.

Firstly, more and more technology available in today’s era like television,
mobile phones, computers, internet etc. We can easily see every countries
culture through this technology. Many people going to abroad for study
as well as to do work and try to mix with this cultures. For instance, on
the television many shows broadcast from different country which we and
new generation see and try to get this cultures. Someone coming home
country after completion study or work at that time his/her attitude has
changed. So that’s all are a main reason for the cultures similarity in
every countries.

Advantages and disadvantages of heterogenization

In a world of growing economic, culture has become one of key diver of change. It can direct two ways,
which are homogenization and heterogenization. However, there are still a lot of the provisions of
design in the future.

Firstly, let me explain what are homogenization and heterogenization. Base on the research,
homogenization is that mighty culture has invaded local culture as well as it has become the dominant
culture in local area that aims to eliminate the local culture. Society becomes homogenous. Everyone
conforms to western ideal. It also results that loss of individual culture and religions. There are more
market competition as well.
However, cultural heterogenization or multicultural society, which means region culture was widely
disseminated and accepted by other societies and cultures and meanwhile enhance the cultural
diversity in local society. It could be resulted that richer countries gives incentive to poorer countries to
protect their natural environments as well as to adopt more sustainable practices.

There is one article, which emphases the contents of marketing in a multicultural world. Basu notes that
global criteria are seen as replacing local perspectives, resurrecting old debates on indiciduality versus
universality in perception and preference, on appropriation and reappropriation, and eventually, on
modernity and tradition. Whether the discourse is located within general theories of culture or political
ideology or contetualized for a given people, the issues invariably encompass both material conditions
for creation and transaction of goods and their appreciation in host and foreign cultures.

Finally, we can find out a lot of chances to design any services in both of future word. The cultural
things, as a drive of change, makes the world or markets so differently. Global trends in emerging
ethnicity and also in global marketing make our design an especially services.

Which of the aforementioned views on the history

of globalization do you find the most appealing?
Why?
And what those ”aforementioned views” are you referring to? Globalization is a process that
started with the first empires - the Achaemenid/Persian held together 44% of the human
population of that times; Roman and Chinese empires plus India had even more, but the
connections between them were not strong (if it was any). The first step toward
globalization was made by the Mongols - the short-lived empire of Genghis-Khan was
spread from Russia to China, almost all the Eurasian continental area. Then China and the
West got connected (Marco Polo the first Westerner to get there). Vasco da Gama reached
India; Columbus reached a new continent, believing that is India; and the Age of Discoveries
open the road to the Age of Colonialism. After WWII the European hold on colonies ended;
but the connections between colonies and their ex-metropolis did not ceased completely.
The English ones formed the Commonwealth, the French kept the contact with France, and
the Spanish ones did the same with Spain. The future skeleton of globalization was put in
place. Modern transportation communication technologies - air companies and the Internet
- did the rest.

This is the history of globalization, plain and simple. But the real engine of globalization is
not the economic one - the economic aspect is the symptom, not the cause.

The real cause of globalization is the natural development of human society, which is based
on unity of mankind. Family, clan, tribe, polis, empire, nation-state, were all levels that were
achieved at certain moments in history.
Today only one level of unity must be achieved: the last. A World Commonwealth, a global
socio-political entity to manage the affairs of the human race in the interest of human race -
not in the interest of a social class or a nation. The problems mankind is confronted with -
climate change, emergence of the IVth Industrial Revolution - robotics+AI+3D printing,
emergence that might make a lot of people loose their jobs, the danger of a pandemic, either
natural or man-made, cannot be tackled at nation level, no matter how strong a nation may
be.

What do you think is the effect of a high dependency ratio

in developed countries?
The majority of the influence that we can get from developed countries will be seen easily on the social
affairs and entertainment by the Filipinos. This will be the highest priorities by someone that has a
dream of success in global. Even a common individual might want a life that is popular and be accepted
in the community. The culture of foreigners will eventually the life of the nation and be always
dependent on what's new.

There is also a high influence in socialization. In example, through the use of their technology, under
developed countries might want to use this also in entertainment such as in sports and other relaxation.
Morality from other culture will be easily get into the people who are using this technology. The way of
thinking, speech decision in everyday living will be guided by these moral principles.

Is the heightened flow of people a unique feature of the

current Global era?
People have been moving around the world long before the word immigration was ever mentioned. It is
safe to assume that necessity was the reason small populations migrated to different places. Besides not
caring much about racial issues unlike today, national borders were unheard of so people move and
intermarry regularly.

People today move for various reasons like work, leisure, tours, looking for a partner like what western
men do, shopping and many others. So YES, the current global era with its many ways of traveling has
created a heightened flow of people around the world.

Has globalization facilitated or obstructed greater labor

migration?
Globalization has a greater impact to those needing population to work abroad and a smooth supply for
the industrialized nation. There are so many Filipinos had migrated to other countries and are now living
there together with their families. Because of globalization, there are more opportunities are define
around the world.
