ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Throughout the journey of this work till the date, we realized more
strongly how much selfless effort and goodwill of others have helped us. There
are too much effort of gardener to yield the beautiful flowers. So, we should
not forget them while praising flower. It is matter of gratification for us to pay
our respects and acknowledgements to all those who have imparted knowledge
and help us to complete our report phase-I.
III

ABSTRACT
The role of Internet of Things (IoT) and its impact on Cargo Management System
(CMS) through an extensive literature review. Important aspects of IoT in CMS are
covered including IoT definition, main IoT technology enablers and various CMS
processes and applications. We offer several categorisation of the extant literature, such as
based on methodology, industry sector and focus on a classification based on major supply
chain processes.
In Cargo Management System the transportation of perishable agricultural
products, medicines effectively plays a vital role in the sustainability of the entire process.
It is also to be noted that most of the post- harvest wastage occurs in the transportation
phase. In this paper we propose a system to optimize the transportation of the perishable
products. Sensors is used to monitor the physical and environmental conditions like
temperature, humidity, position of cargo there by enabling these low power devices to be
a part of the Internet of Things (IoT). The past learning experiences of the freight are
incorporated to make appropriate decisions in order to enhance the profits earned by the
supplier and also to satisfy the demands of the consumer by supplying the perishable
products at the correct scale of freshness.
Keywords: - Internet of Things (Iot), Real-Time Systems, Arduino atmega328,
Temperature Sensor, GPRS Module.
