Course Title: English for Specific Purposes (ESP)
Course Description:

This course is designed to introduce a learner-centered approach to ESP, and the practical applications of
the course design in the form of syllabus, materials, methodology and assessment for particular
professional needs. Students will learn to deal with language descriptions, and the needs analysis in ESP
course design.

Course Objectives:

After completing this course, students should be able to:


1. understand the origins of ESP and its development;

2. be equipped with ESP theories and their application to their LNA;

3. identify and discuss approaches related to ESP curriculum design;

4. construct a syllabus based on the results of the LNA; and

5. create an ESP set of materials.
