I – OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
1. identify the recyclable material used in making spiral hanging decoration;
2. value recycling through reusing plastic folder; and
3. make a spiral hanging decoration using used plastic folder

 Ma’am our last topic was all about “Recycling”.
Very good! Who can recall what is recycling? (The student answer)
Ma’am recycling is the process of converting waste
materials into new materials and objects.
Exactly!
What are the recyclable materials used in
recycling? Ma’am, the recyclable materials used in recycling
are newspapers, plastic containers, glass bottles,
fabric scrap, yarn wastes, tin and cans.
Very good! I’m glad that you have study the
lesson very well.

B. Motivation
Class, before we proceed to our new topic, do
you want to play a game? Yes, ma’am!
Okay, I have here a jigsaw puzzle in the box.
All you need to do is to put the pieces of puzzle in
order.
(The teacher will show the box)
This time, I will divide you into two (2) groups-
this row is group 1 and then group 2. At my signal
you will start the game and you need to finish it in
two (2) minutes.
Who will be the first to arrange the jigsaw Yes, ma’am.

Now class, our topic this morning is all about
“Spiral Hanging Decorations”.

the video and post it to the board.

And after that, you are going to arrange

I will give you 5 minutes to complete the

1. Prepare the materials needed in the
activity
2. Make sure you have enough space to work
safely and efficiently.
3. Cut the plastic folder into four parts
4. Fold the plastic folder in two
5. Make a hole in the upper part of the folder
6. Cut the folder about ½ inches in a
horizontal, leave some space at the center.
Be careful, avoid cutting off the folder.
7. Cut ‘till the end of the folder

Okay class, since you have already in your
group, and you’ve done watching the
video, I want you to make every group
atleast 3 pcs of spiral hanging decorations
out of that recyclable materials based in
the instructions given.
