SOP FOR TBC

⇨ Before Beam fall

● To enter into department with safety shoes and earplug reach to

work place (mandatory PPE 1. Safety shoes, PPE2. Ear plug )
● Take beam fall round and check all parameters of beam (as per
check list) before taking to loom, any discrepancy should be
communicated to shift in charge before taking gaiting.
● Check the new drawn beam(like held frame lock, bolt, centre
support, extra held wire, cut and crossing ends, beam bracket
bolt ,extra reed width, selvedge drawing order as per technical
sheet etc.)
● Dressing to be done carefully, during dressing all serrated bar
should be cleaned with petrol, all serrated-bar should be put
properly with drop-in.
● Check beam trolley’s all safety parameter like wheel, handle and
hydraulic pressure condition etc. before lifting new beam set.
● Dressed beam to be loaded on trolley carefully and taken to the
department with proper yellow marking path with maintain
proper speed.
● Keep the trolley of loaded beam behind the specified loom ( to
be gaited)
● After Beam fall

● Go to the machine and check the machine functioning and all

safety interlocks.
● Unload the old set from the machine ,during this time quick style
to be changed( if required)
● To unload put all heald shafts in up-position and jacquard in
leveling position.
● Open both side temple & cutter and cut warp sheets then take
off the cloth.
● Open reed holder bolts to open reed.
● Open HF support bolt & serrated-bar bolt.
● Loose both side catch-cord stand bolt to open catch-cord stand,
put a side.
● Open HF one by one very carefully, open serrated-bars one by
one.
● Open the beam lock & take off the beam along with the warp and
open beam gear, both side and put separately.
● After unloading the beam apply or remove (if required) jacquard
and push rod carefully.
● Set to be loaded carefully to avoid any type of injury to follow
the all safety parameters.
● Keep the empty beam, heald-frame , serrated-bar, drop-pin etc
in proper place.
● Clean the machine properly and then do the oiling and greasing
carefully.
● As per design requirement put all the frame in up position.
● Load the gtg-set properly to avoid entanglement of warp-sheet.
● Lock the held frame of both sides one by one.
● Held frame up support, side support tight. Serrated-bars set and
tight.
● Fix the reed on the reed-holder (use torque 80-nm).
● Set catch-cord stand and draw.
● Draw jacqard if required.
● Do stroke setting & gauge if required.
● After dressing the warp in front of the reed knot them with the
warp sheet of the emery-roll.
● Under gaiting process heald-frame, reed, temple should be
bolted properly.
● Loosen and shake the warp sheet of beam to create vibration in
slow motion to take off the warp sheet in the machine.
● Fix the temple of both sides.
● Adjust both side jacquard required.
● Draw both side catch-cords.
● Apply weft pattern, warp pattern & PPI as per design on the
machine (by microprocessor).
● While inserting weft run the machine in slow motion within 10-
15 picks.
● Tighten the warp sheet, mend the cut ends & broken ends to
start the loom in slow RPM to produce the cloth.
● Finally after checking the warp and weft color pattern, count (as
per technical sheet) fabric width, warp draw & denting order,
monogram program should be inspected to start the loom.
● To do stroke setting and gauge (if required).
Picanol optimax Rapier

● Set the machine 180 degree by means of the slow motion function
(PB-SMR OR PB- SMF) to avoid any damage of the machine.

● Loosen the bolts ‘A’of the LHS rapier wheel.

● Move the till 30mm over the middle of the weaving width.

● Tighten one bolt ‘A’of the LHS rapier wheel (80 Nm)

● Loosen the bolt B of the RHS rapier wheel.

● Fit the RHS griper so that its tip is positioned over the mark in the
middle of the reed holder, inside the LHS gripper.

● The RHS griper must move until the hook of the gripper just takes
the filling yarn.

● Tighten one bolt B of the RHS rapier wheel (80Nm).

Proceed as follow to set the stroke of the LHS gripper:-

● Set the machine to 0 degree by means of the slow motion function

(PB-SMR OR PB-SMF)

● Remove the cover plate of the LHS gripper housing.

● Measure the distance ml between the gripper tip and the edge of the
slide.

● Loosen the bolts A (Make sure the socket of the key does not fall into
the housing)

● Calculate the distance C and move the gripper to C from the edge.

● Tighten the bolt A (80 Nm)

● Mount the cover plate of the LHS gripper housing.

● Proceed as follow to set the start position of the LHS gripper.

● Loosen the the bolts A of the LHS rapier wheel.

● Move the gripper to distance bl from the slide edge.

● Tighten all bolts A of the LHS rapier wheel (80 Nm)

● Fit the cover onto the guard of the LHS gripper housing.

Proceed as follow to set the stroke of the RHS gripper

● Remove the cover plate of the RHS gripper housing.

● Measure the distance Mr. between the gripper tip and the edge of
the slide.

● Loosen the bolts A and finger tighten them. (make sure the socket of
the key does not fall into the housing)

● Calculate the distance d and move the gripper to distance d from the
slide edge.

● Tighten the bolts A (80Nm)

Proceed as follow to set the start position of the RHS gripper

● Loosen the bolts A of the RHS rapier wheel.

● Move the gripper to distance br from the slide edge.

● Tighten the all bolts A of the RHS rapier wheel.

● Fit the cover onto the guard of the RHS gripper housing.
Sulzer rapier

● Turn machine carefully by hand and check the distance between

the gripper head and the end of the reed on both sides (at
rapier entry and exit).

● The distance should be 2 to 3 mm. increase the crank stroke if the

distance is too small and reduce the crank stroke if it is too large.

● Slacken the four screws 1 on the crank arm and change the crank
stroke by means of grub screw 2 Provisionally tighten the two
opposite screws 1 and reset rapier travel.

● When machine position is 180 degree, align the tip of the inserting
rapier with the marked supporting tooth or the middle of the bore
hole. For this purpose slacken screws and bring inserting rapier into
the position described. privionally tighten screws 4.

● Recheck the 2 to 3mm distance between the gripper head and the
end of the reed and where necessary repeat the crank stroke
adjustment. If the adjustment is correct, tighten screws 4 of the tape
wheel with 150 Nm and screws 1 of the crank arm with 180 Nm.

● Crank stroke adjustment is identical for the right hand site. Set the
rapier travel, receiving rapier 6 must enter inserting rapier 5 just far
enough to seize a presented pick.

● Machine position should be maintain 180 degree, when weaving at

speeds above 500 rpm, the receiving rapier must be set back approx.
10mm.

● Tighten screws 1 with 180 Nm. Then tighten screws 4 on tape wheel
with 150 Nm ( clamping surfaces of the hub and clamping disc must
be free of grease )
Torsion Settings

Torsion setting or torque adjustment is very essential for

1. Weft count change

2. Reed space change

So, accurate pick arrival timing should adjust properly.

Steps

● Keep machine at 0° position.

● Loose all bolts of 27ka.

● Then loose bolt 19ka and clamping properly.

● Then rotate the middle bolt 24a accordingly.

● Rotation of bolt clock-wise and anti-clock-wise to change torque

angles shows in scale arrow.

● Angle decreasing result of increasing torque .

● Then tight all bolts and see pick arrival degree (290-300°)

Picanol optimax Rapier :-

● take stroke setting range and set it’s degree 180 & do it properly.
● Sulzer rapier :-
● Sulzer projectile :-
● Starting the loom and finalizing (Check warp and weft color, count as
per technical sheet, finger, fabric width, warp drawing & denting
order, monogram programed).
● During start to check warp stop motion properly( both side warp
sensitivity ,warp stop plug, etc.)
● Open beam bolt in zigzag view direction.
● After start the M/C fill up all data & check point parameters into the
check list register.
