Reflection:

On Monday 28th October I was having an observation for literacy lesson on Alnseem School at
10:45 AM. In kindergarten 1 class there are 17 children present and one child was absent. My
literacy lesson was about letter “n” it’s a new letter for children.
I had some difficulties like I was planning and preparing for a lesson plan about literacy
integrate with science I was ready to teach the science lesson with all the advanced activities,
but the school changed the class schedule from science to English. On Sunday I make a new
lesson for letter “n” with five activities.
While I teach my lesson I forget some points or steps I have to do in sequences my MCT advise
me a great ideas which is next time, I will do a list on board what I have to do step by step, like
first Good morning cycle when we finish one part I will ask one student to check.
I can enhance students learning of this lesson in the future by new style learning like a video
with information and make sure the technology staff is working. Through this lesson, I learned
from my MST that she is attracting student's attention through her voice and repeat the
classroom rules. I will try my best to increase my teacher's voice, I will practice more and more
to make get the real teacher voice.

9- Play song How’s the weather
10- Morning massage (include English skills)

Then I will start explaining. (Today we will learn about addition)

I will write 1 + 1 on the whiteboard then I will ask students if they

know what this means. I will put one pencil in one hand, and one
pencil in my other hand. I will show children that this means one
(pencil) and one (pencil) together equal two pencils. I will bring your
hands together to reinforce the concept.

Then I will explain to the class that when we put things together, it is
called addition, or we add. Also, I will say that addition means we are
getting more of something.

I will draw two flowers on the board. Then I will write down a plus
sign followed by three more flowers. Say aloud, “Two flowers together
with three flowers makes what?” The children will count and answer
five flowers. Then, I will write down 2 + 3 = 5 to show how to
record equations like this.

I will show them a short video about addition with Sesame Street.

Here an activity for engagement:

I will use PowerPoint:

The children will answer then we will press the next slide and see if
the answer is right.

Resources Main activities - 30 minutes

& Time
Activity 1:

In this activity the children will have many

cards for example (2+1) (3+2) (5+1) …. And
they will count these numbers by using
manipulatives and for example: (2+1) the
child will take 2 beads and put it on the first
cup then he/she will take 1 bead and put it on
the other cup (The beads come out under the
cups) then the child will count how many
beads he /she will have.
- Cards
- Manipulatives

Activity 2: Group activity of 5 children

In this activity there will be papers with numbers, papers with (+ =)

The children have to make an equation and solve it together.

- papers with
numbers and
the sign (+ =)
Activity 3:

In this activity the children will do addition by using cubes and dice.
First the child will through the dice two times.

For example:
First the child throws the dice and show a number 3
Second time the child throws the dice and show a number 2
Then the child will add these two numbers by using the cubes and
write the numbers on the paper.
- Paper same
the picture
- Cubes
- Marker

Activity 4:
Here I will create cards with equation and pictures about the earth
like (trees – flowers – birds – apples – cats- dogs ……)

For example:
The child has a card with 2 apples and 4 oranges, first the child will
count how many apples he sees in the card and how many oranges he
sees in the card then write down these two numbers then add them all
together and write number =6.

- Cards with
different
pictures
- marker

Activity 5: (creative center)- Recycle and string beads

Here the creative center the children will use different boxes (recycle).
The child will take paper and put it like the picture then take
manipulates (small stones – beads …) and put it on side the paper
then open the cover and the child counts how many stones he has.

Here the children will do addition by using string with beads, the
child will take one card and do the same picture.
