Ammonia Sequence

The system automatically starts when enabled and controls eight compressors and pumps for ammonia supply. It uses evaporative condensers, air cooled condensers, and pumps/fans to maintain condensing pressure setpoints. Alarms are generated if equipment status does not match commands, and upon loss of status equipment will restart after a system reset. It also controls temperature and detects ammonia leaks, stopping equipment and starting exhaust fans as needed for safety.

SOP

SYSTEM ENABLE:
The system will automatically start when the system enable (SYSTEM-EN) is "ON". When the
system enable is "OFF", the system will be disabled.

COMPRESSORS CONTROL:
This system consists of eight Compressors. The compressors shall be controlled via their own
internal controls to maintain ammonia supply temperature. Each compressor will be staged on
and off in order to maintain the differential setpoint of suction pressure. When a compressor is
required, the compressor with the lowest runtime total shall be enabled to run. SCADA system
will responsible for collect and monitor all data from compressors and generate alarms and
reports.

PRIMARY PUMP CONTROL:

When enabled, the pump associated will be started. One is duty and another one is standby If
the pump status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated and the standby will
start, If the standby pump status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated.
Upon loss of status, the pump will restart after the system reset is activated.

SECONDARY LOOP PUMPING:

The lead secondary pump will be started when the system is enabled, the pumps will work as
two group, each group two pump one is duty and another one standby. Each variable frequency
drive will be modulated to maintain loop pressure. Additional pumps will be started as required
to maintain the differential pressure in the secondary loop. When an additional pump is required,
the pump with the lowest runtime total shall be enabled to run. If the pump status does not
match the command, an alarm will be generated and the pump will be stopped. Upon loss of
status, the pump will restart after the system reset is activated.

EVAPORATIVE CONDENSER (PUMPS&FANS):

When enabled in summer mode, there are 3 evaporative condenser each on contain one pump
and two fans, a pump for condenser1 will be started then fan1 will start additional fan will start
as required to maintain condensing pressure setpoint., Additional evaporative will start as
required to maintain main condensing pressure setpoint, The first group of Air cooled condenser
will start if the evaporative condenser not enough to achieve the setpiont of condensing
pressure. If the pump or fan status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated
and the pump and fan will be stopped. Upon loss of status, the pump and fans will restart after
the system reset is activated. After the compressor is commanded off, the pump will continue to
run for a short time to dissipate the heat.

AIRE COOLED CONDENSER (FANS):

This system consists of four group each one six fans single speed it will enabled in winter mode,
the group of fans (6fans) will be staged on and off to maintain a condensing pressure setpoint .If
the air cooled condenser not enough to achieve the setpiont of condensing pressure The first
evaporative of evaporative condenser will start ( fans will start first as per the pressure after that
the pumps will start if required. If fans or pumps status does not match the command, an alarm
will be generated and the fans group will be stopped. Upon loss of status, the fans will restart
after the system reset is activated.

AMMONIA PUMPS MT SYSTEM:

When enabled, the pump associated will be started. Two are duty and another one is standby If
the pump status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated and the standby one
will start, If the pump status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated and the
Compressors will be stopped. Upon loss of status, the pump will restart after the system reset is
activated. Upon level cutout switch send signal to controller, all pumps will stop and start again if
the alarm has been released .After the Compressors is commanded off, the pump will continue
to run for a short time to allow the equipment to coast down.

AMMONIA PUMPS LT SYSTEM:

When enabled, the pump associated will be started. One is duty and another one is standby If
the pump status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated and the standby one
will start If the pump status does not match the command, an alarm will be generated and the
Compressors will be stopped. Upon loss of status, the pump will restart after the system reset is
activated. Upon level cutout switch send signal to controller, all pumps will stop and will start
again if the alarm has been released. After the Compressor is commanded off, the pump will
continue to run for a short time to allow the equipment to coast down.

AMMONIA LEAK:
During low level alarm received from ammonia leak detector, the exhaust fans will start for
specific area (Roof or machine room location)
During high level alarm received from ammonia leak detector, the exhaust fans will continue
work and all equipment will stop.

GLYCOL COOLERS:

The coolers shall be controlled via their own internal controls as per attached file (

TEMPERATURE CONTROL:
The unit will control to maintain the zone temperature setpoint as sensed by the zone
temperature sensor.

COOLING valve:
The cooling valve will be modulated to maintain the temperature setpoint.

AMONNIA COOLER:
The coolers shall be controlled via their own internal controls as per attached file (Ammonia
cooler sequence). SCADA system will responsible for collect and monitor all data from Aminnia
controller and generate alarms and reports.
