WHAT IS SKINCARE?
The eyes are described as the windows of the soul, the mouth as the courier of thought, and the
nose as the servant of olfaction. The skin is just the frame to the picture. Unfortunately, many
judge themselves according to this frame. They could either have feelings of content or censure
of their own physical features. Good health and self-esteem go hand-in-hand during the process
of exercising and establishing good health habits. The skin's clarity of acne, wrinkles, and
sunburns is merely assistance to their stature of confidence. Having healthy skin is a step to
confidence. Becoming worry-free of appearances is Practicing good sleeping, eating, and
drinking habits lead to the success of a healthy looking person.
Because of the large coverage of the skin over the body, it would be encouraged to take care of
its texture and form. Many desire healthy looking skin that is smooth and firm. The attraction for
this desire makes the market place booming with industry in order to fulfill the consumers'
desire. Viewers at home can be guaranteed to see some type of commercial advertisement on TV
that focuses on the integument and appendages of hair, make-up, lotions, or nail products.
Keeping the face clear promotes good self-esteem and confidence to one's appearance. Good skin
can save time from make-up. When a girl wants to step out for a night of the town, the pimples
and blemishes on her face will be the last thing that she will be conscious of. Little things can be
erupted from something so miniscule. The first thing to combat would be the pores. A pore is
what allows the skin to breathe. If pores were to be blocked by dirt, oil, or make-up, unwanted
acne would take place. Avoid wearing make-up to sleep and touching the face when hands are
dirty. Pores can be kept clean if washed daily, by using a soft facial cleanser versus the usage of
deodorant soaps. Whenever heading for the pool or a day out in the sun, never forget to protect
your skin from hazardous Ultraviolet Rays (UV). By overexposure to Ultraviolet rays, you're
more likely to develop cancer.
As we all take care of our body, we take medicines when we are sick and just like that skincare is
important. Our skin is part of our body that requires care too; your skin protects your body from
the many viruses and bacteria you are exposed to daily. It also protects you from the sun's rays -
specifically ultraviolet light - that can damage cells. Even at its thickest point, our skin is only a
few millimeters thick. But it is still our heaviest and largest organ, making up about one seventh
of our body weight: Depending on your height and body mass, it weighs between 3.5 and 10
kilograms (7.5 and 22 pounds) and has a surface area of 1.5 to 2 square meters. This goes to
show how important skin is for your body and metabolism. Skin has a lot of different functions.
It is a stable but flexible outer covering that acts as barrier, protecting your body from harmful
things in the outside world such as moisture, the cold and sun rays, as well as germs and toxic
substances. Just looking at someone’s skin can already tell you a lot – for instance, about their
age and health. Changes in skin color or structure can be a sign of a medical condition. For
example, people with too few red blood cells in their blood may look pale, and people who have
hepatitis have yellowish skin.
Skin care is a routine daily procedure in many settings, such as skin that is either too dry or too
moist, and prevention of dermatitis and prevention of skin injuries. Skin care is a part of the
treatment of wound healing, radiation therapy and some medications. Your skin reflects your
health. To take care of it, you need to build healthy habits. It's your body's canvas and one of its
most valuable assets. For good skin care, start developing healthy habits that guard your valued
possession from outer (and inner) forces. It's the only skin you'll ever get, so your daily habits
mean everything.

Age spots:
Freckles:
Precancerous or cancerous growths like basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and

Wrinkles:
Most skin cancers come from sun exposure. Limit your time outside, especially between 10 a.m.
and 2 p.m. always wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with the physical blocker zinc oxide and a
sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or greater. Wear protective clothing, like a long-sleeved shirt,
pants, and a wide-brimmed hat.
Go to the pros. No one has perfect skin. Yours might be dry or oily. Or you could get rashes and
acne. Talk to a skin expert, whether it’s an aesthetician at your local salon or a dermatologist, for
more severe skin problems.
Check yourself. Pay attention to all parts of your skin so you'll notice any changes in moles or
patches that might indicate skin cancer. Go to the doctor when you have a question.
For many men, "skin care" is something their wives or girlfriends do. Reaching for the shaving
cream, they knock over bottles of moisturizers and creams and wonder if all those expensive
potions and their exotic ingredients are even worth the plastic they're packaged in.
So it's not surprising that many men react to new male-oriented lines of skin care products by
assuming they're mere marketing ploys aimed at separating self-absorbed men from their money.
Yet skin care isn't just for the growing ranks of urban "metrosexuals." Dermatologists from
across the country tell WebMD that growing numbers of older men are seeking advice on how to
stay looking younger for longer.
"No matter how well you dress, how nice your haircut is, and how healthy you are, if you have
skin that is dull and freckly and blotchy you're not going to look your best," says Jeffrey Dover,
MD, an associate clinical professor of dermatology at Yale School of Medicine.
As a result, men's skin is on average 20% to 30% thicker than women's skin, Tung says. And
thicker skin does a better job of resisting wrinkles.
After sunscreen, a vitamin C antioxidant serum is one of the most important anti-aging products
available. Free radicals from the environment (for example from UVR and pollution) contribute
to skin damage and skin aging,” Shah says. “An antioxidant serum neutralizes these damaging
free radicals and protects the skin. Unlike some harsher anti-aging ingredients, such as retinoid,
antioxidant serums are generally tolerated by all skin types. ”
