1. Plague (verb) :

 Meaning: To cause pain or trouble to somebody/something over a period of time. (त्रस्त


करना)
 Synonyms: Trouble, Torment, Afflict, Bedevil
 Antonyms: Help, Aid, Assist, Support
 Example: Financial problems are plaguing the company.

2. Retribution (noun) :

 Meaning:Severe punishment for something seriously wrong that somebody has done.
(दण्ड)
 Synonyms: Punishment, Penalty, Nemesis, Comeuppance
 Antonyms: Forgiveness, Pardon, Mercy, Acquittal
 Example: Victims are demanding retribution for the terrorist attacks.
3. Ulterior (adjective):

 Meaning: (of a reason for doing something) that somebody keeps hidden and does not
admit. (अप्रत्यक्ष)
 Synonyms: Hidden, Concealed, Unrevealed, Covert
 Antonyms: Expressed, Overt, Known, Public
 Example: She must have some ulterior motive for being nice to me—what does she really
want?

4. Perilous (adjective) :

 Meaning: very dangerous. (खतरनाक)


 Synonyms: Dangerous, Hazardous, Treacherous, Precarious
 Antonyms:Safe, Secure, Innocuous, Benign
 Example: The journey through the jungle was perilous.

5. Enthuse (verb) :

 Meaning: To make somebody feel very interested and excited. (जोश भरना)
 Synonyms: Encourage, Stimulate, Arouse, Spur
 Antonyms: Discourage, Dissuade, Dishearten, Dispirit
 Example: Everyone present was enthused by the idea.

6. Exuberant (adjective) :

 Meaning: Full of energy, excitement and happiness. (प्रफु ल्लित)


 Synonyms: Cheerful, Ebullient, Buoyant, Effervescent
 Antonyms: Unhappy, Dull, Dispirited, Unenthusiastic
 Example: A noisy bunch of exuberant youngsters were gathered outside.

7. Subterfuge (noun) :

 Meaning: A secret, usually dishonest, way of behaving. (छि)


 Synonyms: Trick, Ploy, Stratagem, Manoeuvre
 Antonyms: Uprightness, Honesty, Openness
 Example: Journalists often use subterfuge to obtain material for stories.
8. Opportune (adjective) :

 Meaning: (of a time) suitable for doing a particular thing, so that it is likely to be successful.

 Antonyms: Inappropriate, Disadvantageous, Unsuitable, Inopportune
 Example: It was an opportune time to look at the offer in more detail.

9. Catapult (verb) :

 Meaning: Drive into a particular situation. (आगे को बढाना, पहुंिा देना)


 Synonyms: Propel, Launch, Hurl, Hurtle
 Antonyms: Hinder, Impede, Check, Thwart
 Example: Their music catapulted them to the top of the charts.

10.Stagflation (noun) :

 Meaning: Persistent high inflation combined with high unemployment and stagnant demand
in a country's economy. (मुद्रास्फील्तजल्नत मुंदी)
 Synonyms: Recession, Slump, Decline, Slowdown
 Antonyms: Success, Bulge, Surge, Rise
 Example: Stagflation can be a harbinger of economic depression.
