2) It involves purging the pumps shortly before and after loading and unloading cargo, as well as 1-2 days after loading if there is no leakage, in order to monitor for hydraulic oil, cargo, or water condensate in the pumps.
3) Ship personnel such as the Chief Officer, Chief Engineer, and Pumpman are required to sign off on the purging intervals and results for each tank and pump.
