Release Notes
Compatibility

 PC Linetester Tool V2.0.3 is compatible to all existing HW versions of the Linetester FDUL221.
See operating manual (doc. nr. 008250) for more details.
 PC Linetester Tool V2.0.3 is compatible to the Linetester Firmware versions >= V4.0.3.

Changes in the PC Linetester Tool for V2.0.3 (compared to V1.7)


 HW topology imported from the FDUL221 can be exported to the Engineering tool. Assignment
between detection tree and hardware can be started.
 PC Linetester Tool can be directly connected to a panel using Ethernet connection. Same
functionality available as with connection via FDUL221 Hardware.
 Extended measurements
o measure loop resistance forward and reverse (detects diodes)
o mark values that are beyond limit (colored text and an annotation)
o measure resistance for each line device (simple measurement is started automatically,
extended measurement manually)
 Extended error detection
o Topology errors are reported (e.g. stub-on-stub, too multiple branches)
o New measurements
o Errors use the same numbers (Enn) as the FDUL221
 "Customer Text" can be entered for the line and each device. Text is shown in exported data.
 Improved topology display
o easier to read columns
o new icons (same as in Engineering Tool)
 Menu structure changed, tool tips added.
 Detailed printable report in PDF format available, which can be used as handover protocol
between electrical installer and service technician.
 Load/save uses new file format. Files of the previous versions can NOT be read.
 Internal and external alarm indicators are activated for the selected device.
 "Locate device" menu to enable the internal and external alarm indicators based on filters: all on,
all off, end-of-stub, devices with errors.

 Data export changed:


o PDF, CSV and FSM (for import in Engineering tool) added, HTML removed
o PDF report includes per-device resistance measurements diagrams
 Upload/Erase saved topologies from FDUL221-EL.
 Support of 252 line devices.
 Support for the FDUD29x: Read of location or customer text possible, outputs can be activated
via FDUD292.
 Convert line function added (repeatedly start up line, used to switch dual protocol devices from
legacy protocol to FDnet)
 "Create Problem Report" function (in the "Help" menu) added.
 Files can be opened via drag & drop.
