Ticket 23386

This document provides specifications for pumping an additive similar to diesel fuel oil with a density of 800-850 kg/m3 and viscosity of 4 mm2/s or 4 cP. It includes: - Flow rate requirements of 5-30 kg/hr - An operating pressure of 100 Psi (7 bar) - A pump and flow meter solution is proposed using a Tuthill DGS.23PPPT2NN00000 pump and Bronkhorst Coriolis M14-MGD-22.0-S flow meter. - Calculations are shown verifying the pump can handle the minimum and maximum flow rates at the operating pressure while maintaining the manufacturer's pressure limits.

Ticket 233386 Coriolis

Question:
Additive properties:
Fuel liquid similar to diesel (fuel oil # 4)
Density = 800 - 850 kg / m3
Viscosity = 4 mm2 / s
Temperature = 30 ° C
Operating pressure = 100 Psi (7 bar) maximum
Minimum flow = 5 Kg / hr
Maximum flow = 30 Kg / hr

Our application will obtain the additive from an atmospheric tank, so a pump is required to
drive it to the dosing point according to the following diagram:

Viscosity = 4 mm2 / s
convert to CP (same as mPa.s) = 4 CP

according to source https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/viscosity-converter-d_413.html

Please check if we used corect viscosity value.
When not the calculated products can't be used.

Remark:
· One (1) virtualy pulse-free gear pump
· One (1) mini CORI-FLOW mass flow meter and controller

We don’t offer pump + MFC but pump + flow meter (as in your dwg)
We assume drawing is correct (this is standard)
Out quotation will be based upon a pump + coriolis flow meter only
Calculation:
Calculated wit density 825 kg/m3
Flow 30 kg/h and minimum flow 5 Kg/h

We calculated with 7 bar(g) process pressure. Make sure this is correct!

If not solution could not work
1) Flow 30 kg/h
Process pressure = P2 of coriolis 7 bar(g)
For tuthil pump:
Pinlet= 0bar(g)
Poutlet tuthil = Pinlet M14 = 12.08 bar(g) + safety marging 1 bar = 13.1 bar(g)

Tuthil pump can handle max. 17 bar(d) so this will be ok.

Density: 0.825 specific gravity = 825 kg/m3

Needed:
1* DGS.23PPPT2NN00000 + BG45 Magnetically coupled gear pump

(Below advise is advised based upon your information: “diesel like medium”)
-Seals: PTFE (Teflon)
-Gears + Bearings: PPS
-Material: ss316

This is standard for Tuhil pump

Flow conversion factor compared to water
30 kg/h = 30 l/h water

Density custon fluid: 825 kg/m3

--------------- : * 30 kg/h = 24.75 kg/h = 24.75 l/h
1000

We calculate for 30 l/h to have a save margin

2) Flow 5kg/h

For tuthil pump:

Pinlet= 0bar(g)
Poutlet tuthil = Pinlet M14 = 7.549 bar(g) + safety marging 1 bar = 8.55 bar(g)
Flow conversion factor compared to water
5 kg/h = 5 l/h water

Density custon fluid: 825 kg/m3

--------------- : * 5 kg/h = 4.125 kg/h = 4.125 l/h
1000

We calculate for 5 l/h to have a save margin

Conclusion: also for the low flow the DGS .23 tuthil (calculated for the 30kh/h flow above) will work too.
RPM >400 so no bypass needed

Conclusion:

Electrical connection:
-Power supply to tuthil pump (to be quoted)
-Coriolis will receive power by Modbus (from customer system)
-M14 has din 8 connector.
You ask for: o Communication accessories for Modbus with RJ type accessories
Then needed:

Note: avoid double power supply on M14 coriolis.

Modbus will power M14 by a M12 connector. Do not connect a power source to DIN 8 connector.
This will damage the instrument.

Customer must use his rj45 modbus cable and other accessoiries needed to connect to his modbus system.

1* 7.03.191
Price: euro 44.- nett

RS-232 control:
The DIN 8 provides this.
Control also possible on Modmus
