SWD Pipe Sizing - Masterplan

This document provides calculations for designing a storm water drain for an area of 101,500 sqm or 10.15 hectares in South Campus, Bangalore. It calculates the total runoff of 2.5798 cumecs using the rational formula. It then designs a trapezoidal, rectangular, and circular reinforced concrete drain to carry this discharge. For the trapezoidal section, it calculates dimensions of 1.3m for the top width, 1.2m for the depth, and 4.39m for the wetted perimeter. It determines this section can carry the required discharge with a hydraulic radius of 0.3m and bed slope of 0.002.
