A cantilever 2 m long is loaded with a uniformly distributed load of 1.5 kN/m run over the full
length. It also carries a point load of 2 kN at a distance of 0.5 m from the free end. Draw the
shear force and bending moment diagrams of the cantilever.

A cantilever 1.5 m long is loaded with a uniformly distributed load of 2 kN/m run over a length of
1.25 m from the free end. It also carries a point load of 3 kN at a distance of 0.25 m from the free
end. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams of the cantilever.

A cantilever of length of 2 m carries a uniformly distributed load of 2kN/m length over the whole length
and a point load of 3kN at the free end. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagram for the
cantilever

A cantilever beam of length 5m length caries a point load of 2.5 kN at the free end and 3 kN at a
distance of 1 m from the fixed end. It also carries a UDL Load of 1 kN/m for a length of 2m and acting
at a distance of 2.5m from the fixed end. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagram.
A cantilever of length 4m carries a uniformly varying load, zero at the free end to 2 kN/m at the fixed
end. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagram for the cantilever.

A simply supported beam of length 6m carries point of 3 kN and 6 kN at a distance of 2m and 4m from
the left end . Draw the shear force and bending moment diagram for SSB.

A simply supported beam of span 6 meters carries a point load of 1 kN at 1 metre from the left
end and another point load of 4 kN at 1 metre from the right end. It carries a uniformly
distributed load of 2 kN/m run over a distance of 2 metres at mid span of the beam. Find the SF
and BM values. Draw SFD and BMD.

A beam ABCD, simply supported at A and D. Where length AB = 2m; BC = 1m; CD = 2.5 m
carries a point load of 10 kN at B and a concentrated load of 20 kN run between CD. (i) Draw
shear force and bending moment diagram for the above loading. (ii) If the width of the beam is
150 mm and depth of the beam is 450 mm, calculate the bending stress for the beam. Take E =
210 GPa.
A simply supported beam AB of span 5 m carries a udl of intensilty 3 kN/m over a length of 2 m
from the left support A. The beam is also subjected to a clockwise couple of intensily 5 kN-m at
a distance of 4 m from the left support A. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams.

A simply supported beam of span 8 m long is subjected to two concentrated loads of 24 kN and
48 kN at 2 m and 6 m from left support respectively. In addition it carries a udl of 36 kN/m over
the entire span. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams. Mark the salient points.

Also find the maximum bending moment and its position.
