1) WEB:The Web, or World Wide Web (W3), is basically a system of Internet servers that
support specially formatted documents. The documents are formatted in a markup language
called HTML (HyperText Markup Language) that supports links to other documents, as well as
graphics, audio, and video files.
2) WEB PAGE:A web page or webpage is a document commonly written in HTML (Hypertext
Markup Language)thatis accessible through the Internet or other networks using an Internet
browser. A web page is accessed byenteringa URL address and may contain text, graphics, and
hyperlinks to other web pages and files.
3) WEB HOST:Web hosts are companies that rent out their services and technologies to host
websites on the internet. Once the hosting company hosts your website, users can access it by
typing in your web address (domain name) in their web browser.
4) WEB SERVER:Web server" can refer to hardware or software, or both of them working
together.
5) WEBSITE: website is a page or collection of pages on the World Wide Web that contains
specific information which was all provided by one person or entity and traces back to a common
Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Facebook and MySpace are examples of websites.
7) DOMAIN NAME:Domain names are used to identify one or more IP addresses. For example,
the domain name microsoft.com represents about a dozen IP addresses.
9) HOST:A host is a computer that is accessible over a network. It can be a client, server, or any
other type of computer. Each host has a unique identifier called a hostname.
10) ISP:An Internet Service Provider (ISP) is the industry term for the company that is able to
provide you with access to the Internet, typically from a computer. If you hear someone talking
about the Internet and they mention their "provider," they're usually talking about their ISP.

including related links, information, and terms.The most popular server-side scripting
languages and frameworks include PHP, ASP.NET, Node.js, Java, Ruby, Perl and Pythom.

16) APLET: An aplet is a Java program that can be embedded into a web page. It runs inside the
web browser and works at client side. An applet is embedded in an HTML page using the
APPLET or OBJECT tag and hosted on a web server. Applets are used to make the web site
more dynamic and entertaining.
17) CGI: In computing Common Gateway Interface (CGI) is an interface specification for web
servers to execute programs that execute like console applications (also called command-line
interface programs) running on a server that generates web pages dynamically.
18) SERVLET:A servlet is a Java programming language class that is used to extend the
capabilities of servers that host applications accessed by means of a request-response
programming model.
19) JSP:A JavaServer Pages component is a type of Java servlet that is designed to fulfill the role of
a user interface for a Java web application.
