Narrative Report

On October 2, 2019, Mahabang Dahilig Senior High School students led by the

Supreme Student Government prepared a special treat for teachers as part of a month long

celebration of World Teachers’ Day. It began with a staged act by the school principal Mr.

Ryan V. Villahermosa conducting an emergency meeting for teachers at around 7:00 am so

as to allow students to prepare the venue for the celebration. Teachers were then instructed

to visit the construction site for the school building only to find out that a wonderful surprise

program awaited them. Students kicked off the program with a simple march done by

teachers who were requested to walk on the center aisle. This was followed by a simple

prayer and a series of special song numbers performed by talented students. In his opening

remarks, Sir Ryan told the entire school community how grateful he is for having been given

the chance to serve MDSHS.

One of the highlights of the event was a parody in which select students impersonated

their teachers and even the school principal himself. It was such an entertaining performance

which also made teachers to reflect and realize how students perceive them. Also, a video

presentation featured some of the teachers’ closest friends and family who greeted them on

this special occasion. Teachers were presented also presented with simple tokens of

appreciations. The program concluded with teachers expressing messages of gratitude. It

was a remarkable experience indeed for the stars of yesterday’s event. “Sobra akong

nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat lalo na kay Sir Ryan sa walang sawang paggabay at

pagusporta sa akin”, Mam Mhel Javier remarked.

“For God’s glory and in unity, we serve.”
