ACTIVITY TITLE ORIENTATION ON HIGHER EDUCATION MANAGEMENT


INFORMATION SYSTEMS (HEMIS) DATA COLLECTION
FOR SY 2019-2020

PROPOSED DATE AND TIME August 12, 2019 | 1:00PM

I-RATIONALE

Part of our mandate as a government institution is to collect, collate, store and


disseminate data and information needed by the public and stakeholders to make informed
choices and decisions. Higher Education Institutions in Region XI will use the CHED Electronic
Collection and Knowledge (CHECK) System as the main channel in downloading and
submitting the spreadsheet forms of their Higher Education Management Information
Systems (HEMIS) Data for AY 2019-2020.

Relative to this, there is a need to conduct orientation to the registrars and HEMIS
coordinators of HEIs for them to be guided on how to accomplish and fill-out the electronic
spreadsheet forms and learn to navigate and make use of CHECK System. Issues and
concerns encountered previously by the HEMIS focal of HEIs shall be addressed specifically
on errors that surfaced during uploading/submission of data.

II-OBJECTIVES

1. To conduct orientation to HEI registrars/HEMIS focal persons on HEMIS


accomplishment and submission;
2. To have hands-on exercise on logging-in the CHED Electronic Collection and
Knowledge (CHECK) System, navigating the features of the system, downloading
spreadsheet forms, and other related tasks;
3. To resolve problems encountered in uploading/submitting filled-out forms online; and
4. To attain 100% submission of HEMIS reports among HEIs in the region on or before
August 30, 2019 as set by CHEDRO XI.
III-EXPEECTED PARTICIPANTS:

All participants shall bring laptop, pocket wifi, and extension wire.

V- BUDGETARY REQUIREMENTS:

Snacks for Participants 200 persons x 50/head Php 10,000.00
