During the month of July 2018: 1) There were no reportable safety incidents in the Geological Services Department. 2) No infill or brownfield drilling was conducted at the open pits. 3) Approximately 130,830 cubic meters of water was pumped from the Nchanga open pit sump. 4) A total of 194,291 tonnes of ore was mined underground at an average grade of 1.08% TCu and 0.41% ASCu, producing 2,097 tonnes of contained copper and 800 tonnes of acid soluble copper.

MONTHLY GEOLOGICAL REPORT –July, 2018
1. Safety

During the month of April 2018, there was no reportable injury or damage to property incidents
within the Geological Services Department at Nchanga Open Pits or Underground.

2. Drilling

2.1 Open Pits and Surface

Infill Drilling

During the month of April 2018, no infill drilling was done at Nchanga Open Pits.

Brown field Drilling

During the month of April 2018, no brownfield surface exploration drilling was done at Nchanga.

3. Dewatering

3.1 Open Pits

Nchanga Open pit


During the month of April 2018, 130,830m 3 of water was pumped from the NOP sump. 144,645m 3 was
pumped from Block A to surface.

Chingola Open Pit D and F


A total of 475, 455.00m 3 was pumped from the pit sumps and 677,477.14m 3 from the surface and in-
pit dewatering boreholes

SP12
No water was pumped from sp12.

3.2 Underground

During the month of July 2018, an average volume of 74,562 m 3/day of water was pumped from the
underground. The flow measurements carried out on the total number of boreholes from the 2720L
and 3020L, both east & west was 98,818 m3/day.

4. Ore Mining

4.1 Open Pits

4.1.1 Copper Ore Mining

During the month under review, 39,695 tonnes of copper ore was mined from Nchanga open Pit at
an average grade of 0.90% TCU and 0.42% ASCU translating into a total of 357 tonnes of contained
copper.
COPF&D open pit ore mined amounted to 21,128 tonnes at average grades of 0.94%TCU and
0.13%ASCU; consequently, contained copper metal was 199 tonnes.

4.1.2 Cobalt Ore Mining


In the month of April, 2018; there was no cobalt ore mined from Nchanga open pit mine.

4.2 Underground

During the month of July 2018, a total of 194,291 tonnes of ore was mined at an average grade of 1.08
%TCu, 0.41 %ASCU producing 2,097 and 800 tonnes of contained and acid soluble copper respectively.
