XLRI Asynchronous Interview Guide

Preparation Guide for

XLRI Asynchronous Interview


What is the XLRI Asynchronous Interview :

The candidate will see pre-recorded text questions on the screen. ( The interviewer is not
present at the same time as the candidate)

The interview( candidate response) is recorded and evaluated later.

Asynchronous Interview Dates for BM & HRM Courses : 11-13 Feb 2020

Separate Interviews for BM and HRM calls.

Asynchronous Interview is in addition to the face to face interview round .

Details revealed by XLRI

Number of Questions : 8

Time : 3 mins per question ( approx of 2 mins for speaking time – rest can be used as thinking
time)

Helpline number provided for any issues during the interview. SO candidates need not panic

Guidelines :Interview Set up

To ensure that you are focused on the interview questions and not the technical issues
surrounding the interview, we suggest that you

a. Decide the device ( laptop/ mobile) and the background beforehand.

Ensure there is

- Microphone and video and camera are functional


- Proper lighting
- no background distraction / noise .
- No notification sounds on the device during the interview
- Device is steady ( no handheld mobile)
- stable internet connection ( 1 MBPS speed recommended by XLRI)
b. During the interview
- Be formally dressed ( Be dressed as if you are appearing for face to face interview)
- Prop up the device so that the camera is at eye –level
- Look at the camera and not the center of the screen
- Keep the technical helpline number handy in case you need to reach out to them.

Pro-Tip: Do a test run ( video call/skype call with the same background & settings) to ensure a
smooth experience during the interview

Questions Asked in the GMP Asynchronous Interview (already completed)

Since the candidates have 5 yrs+ of work experience, all questions were related to work
experience

 When your boss was not happy with your work, how did you deal with it?

 Did you support your colleague during tough times, if yes, how?

 How did you deal with conflict of interest with your boss?

 How did you handle a lot of paperwork during your work?

 Can co-curricular activities and academics be handled simultaneously?

 Mention an occasion when your integrity was tested?

Expected Questions for BM/HRM Asynchronous Interview

Since we will have candidates with diverse backgrounds, these questions will be agnostic to the
profile of the students. We expect these questions to the be “the standard questions asked
during structured Interviews”

You may have already encountered these during Mock PIs at IMS. The best way to tacke these
questions have also been discussed in the PI Masterclass series ( myIMS -> GDPI->

teachers/colleagues/managers
