Coverage Optimization - Musa

This document provides an overview of MUSA's coverage optimization tool. It describes how the tool simulates changes to cell parameters like azimuth, tilt, and power levels to optimize field measurements. It explains how to load measurements and height data, select parameters to modify, save and load modifications, and view examples of parameter changes and their effects. The tool generates new measurement files showing optimized coverage without making predictions.

Coverage optimization
Purpose of Coverage Optimization

Simulating the effect that a change in a particular parameter of a cell

(within a predefined set) produces on field
The results that are shown affect only the measurements loaded and
only the portion in which at least one sample for the cell “optimized” is
found. No predictions are available

2
Opening optimization tool

It is necessary to close all files before

starting with the optimization tool

4
Heights informations

To perform simulations MUSA uses data contained in the territory

height information files expected available in the folder:
\Projects\<PROJECT_NAME>\Environment\Heights.

If no heights files are available, MUSA presumes that the territory is an

ideal plane at height of 0 m a.s.l.

6
Saving and loading modifications

Parameter modifications are not automatically saved

Through Save Delta button, the parameter modifications are saved
in a .op file
(default folder: Projects\<PROJECT_Name>\Results\Optimization .
Through Load Delta button the .op saved file is loaded
Through Redo Pixelling button a new pixel based measurement file
with _opt suffix is created in the measurement\scanner folder.
