CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM ENCOUNTERED DURING WORK ON BIO-NUTRIGREEN


INTRODUCTION:
DepEd’s student immersion program, as a key feature of the
senior High School Curriculum, is a work related professional
learning opportunities that will allow student to gain important
knowledge, skills and attitude in the chosen field. It will provide
an opportunity to the students to develop themselves in the
workplace in a supervised setting, while also allowing the employer
to evaluate their performance and management potential for future
possible employment.
The on-the-job training (OJT)
Program of any academic course is an essential part of the
academic curriculum for it help student be exposed to actual work
setting and be able to apply and improve the concept and skills
they have learned in school. In the same manner the opportunity
provided by the cultural exchange student program for BS in
Hospitality and Tourism Management student of Saint Mary’s
University is a pivotal OJT credit experience among the willing
and qualified student. This strengthens the goal of SMU to mold
competitive professionals. Generally, as part of providing a well-
polished and improve OJT experience it is then deemed necessary to
analyze the cultural exchange student program highlighting the
coping mechanisms used by the student in facing
issue/problem/concerns along the areas of accommodation facility,
visa/program sponsor, host company (workplace) and cultural
exchange program provider while immersing abroad with the 31 day
participation on the program.
Recommendations to future participants on effective coping
mechanism/strategies when faced with similar immersion were
likewise laid.

This study aimed to describe the work immersion on Bio-
Nutrigreen specifically. It sought to answer the following:

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY:


The problem incountered during work immersion on Bio-
Nutrigreen the result of this study shall be of great importance

This will be beneficial to the following.

STUDENTS
-This study will be beneficial to the student it is a good
way to expose student in the real industry, it also serve as a
stepping stone of the student towards happy and successful life.

TEACHERS
-This study will be beneficial to the teacher since they give
an idea about work immersion in Bio-Nutrigreen and she give a new
research about Bio-Nutrigreen to know the problem encountered
during immersion.

PARENTS
-This study will be beneficial to the parents that our parents
gives us a time to do our research and for the moral support and
love to finished

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY:

This study will be limited to the problem encountered during


work immersion on Bio-Nutrigreen preferences of Brgy, Buenavista,
Dipaculao Aurora.

There will be 10 Respondent in each Bio-Nutrigreen will serve


as the participant of the study.

DEFINITION OF TERMS:

The following terms are defined to better understand the study.

WORK IMMERSION–Refers to the part of the Senior High School SHS


Curriculum consisting of 240 hours of hands on experience or work
simulation which the Grades 11 and 12 students will undergo to
expose them to the actual work place setting and to enrich the
competencies provided by the school under the supervision of the
School head and the designated personnel of the partner

Immersion is done outside the School campus in a work place


Immersion Venue defined as the place where work immersion of
students is done example of work immersion venues include offices,
factories, shops and project sites. “workplace immersion venue”
defined as “the place where work immersion of students is done.
Examples of works immersion venues include offices, factories
shops and project sites.

OJT on-the-job training (OJT) is training that is delivered


while an individual is performing task or processes related to
their particular occupation. The employee typically Perform tasks
that are essential to their job function with the supervision of
a manager, coach or mentor. This type of training is typically
used to broaden an employee’s skill set and to increase
productivity.

One of the tasks new employee’s must undergo is on the job


training so they know how to perform their responsibilities
effectively.

1. Partner Institutions are public or private institution or


organizations that are able and willing to lend their
expertise and resource; and enter into agreement with any of
the DepEd or non-DepEd offices and/or schools. This enables
DepEd to strengthen its capability to offer senior High
School, without monetary requirement from both.

2. Partnership refers to the relationship between the partner


institution and the school, or any office of DepEd (Central

Regional or Division) that responds to the needs of the K to


12 program in general, and Senior High School in particular,
which is formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement.

3. Work Immersion refers to the subject of the Senior High School


Curriculum, which involves hands-on experience or work
simulation in which learners can apply their competencies and
acquired knowledge relevant to their track.

4. Work Immersion Partner Institution Supervisor serves as the


counterpart of the Work Immersion Teacher and may also be the
representative of the partner institution in forging
partnership with DepEd schools. This person shall be
identified in the MOA.

5. Workplace Immersion Venue is the place where work immersion


is conducted. It shall conform with the law and the rules and
regulations on safety, appropriateness for learning, and
availability of facilities and equipment, which are issued by
the DepEd (DO No. 40 s. 2015), Technical Education and Skills
Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and
other relevant government agencies. Example of work immersion
venues include offices, factories, shops, and project sites.
