Executive Summary
Executive summary is a bird’s eye-view of the whole report. It should summarize the full

report including all salient points for enabling a management reader to get a complete

picture of the full dissertation.

Chapter-1: Introduction

A. Introduction to topic

Chapter-2
Literature review- study at least 10 papers/articles related to topic and discuss in short about topics
by giving proper citation as per APA format.

Chapter -3

Research Methodology
The Methodology adopted in conducting the study must be fully explained. The scientific reader would
like to know in detail about such thing. How was the study carried out? What was its basic design? If the
study was an experimental one, then what was the experimental one, then what were the experimental
manipulations? If the data were collected by means of questionnaires or interviews, then exactly what
questions were asked (The questionnaires or interview schedule is usually given in an appendix). If
measurements were based on observation, then what instructions were given to the observers? Regarding
the sample used in the study the reader should be told: Who were the subjects? How many were there?
How were they selected? All these questions are crucial for estimating the probable limits of
generalization of the findings. The statistical analysis adopted must also be clearly stated. In addition to all
this, the scope of study should be stated and the boundary lines be demarcated. The various limitations,
under which the research project was completed, must also be narrated.

Data Presentation & Analysis

A. Data Collection

1. Source of Data Collection: Give source of data for each type of data that is included in the report.
Data could be Primary or Secondary-clearly describe.
2. Students are to collect data in key functional areas (such as Marketing, Human Resource
Management, Finance, ITeS etc) of the company and present analysis in this Chapter. The data under each
functional area is to be collected on the aspects mentioned below (the aspects mentioned below are
suggestive and not restrictive):

(a) Marketing: Product Planning Process; Pricing Policies/Strategies; Channel Planning &
Management; Promotional Policies & their effect on sales; CRM Policies; Advertisement
Process etc.

(b) HRM: HR Planning; Recruitment, Selection & Induction Processes; Training, Performance
Appraisal & Recognition Systems; Industrial Relations, Welfare, Career Development &
Grievance Handling Policies; Safety Policies & Practices etc.

(c) Production & Operations: Production & Procurement Planning; Supply Chain Management
such as Vendor Development, Logistics, Inventory Management; Quality Assurance & Quality
Control; Maintenance Practices etc.

(d) Finance: Analysis of Balance Sheet, Trading Account, Profit & Loss Account, Cash Flow
Statements of the company and comments of at least two years; capital structure of firm,
various aspects of financial management of company such as Capital Budgeting, Working
Capital Management, Ratio Analysis etc.

(e) International Business: Systems & Processes for various aspects of international business & trade
deployed by the company; International Operations Management; International Marketing
Management; International Financial Management; International Human Resource Management;
Import & Export Procedures & Documentation.

(f) Use of ITeS: Use of information technology in the organisational processes such as ERP
systems, Web based technologies and degree of automation & transparency.

B. Data on Specific Area of research

The student can collect primary or secondary data as required.

C. Data Presentation
1. Raw data (primary or secondary) collected must be reduced to standard formats such as tables,
charts, graphs, diagrams etc and is to be presented in this chapter. The tool for data presentation
should be suitably selected so that interpretation and inferences could be drawn easily and become self
explanatory. Proper titles, legends, scales, source (s) etc must be mentioned along with each diagram.

D. Data Analysis

1. During the data analysis students are required to apply established theoretical concepts, tools to the
data collected & presented and draw inferences. Students are required to discuss rational and logic for
drawing inferences. For each inference, proper linkages are to be established with the data or with the
calculation (s) to be included in this Chapter. Wherever, calculations are to be carried out, it must be
provided before drawing any inference. The inferences drawn from each data set are to be presented in
narrative form along with any limitation (s) due to data insufficiency, if any.

2. For each functional area the analysis is to be presented separately.

Findings and Conclusion

This Chapter should comprise the following:

A. Findings

These are to be presented in narrative form and supported by facts & figures analysed in earlier chapters.
The findings are to be consistent with the objectives laid down by the Institute and those assigned by the
company. As far as possible, these are to be written in third person and present tense. Para phrasing is to
be done under the headings; (a) Profile of the Company (b) Environmental Analysis, (c) Organisational
Culture, , and (d) additional aspects on which task performed at the behest of company.

B. Conclusion

 Chapter and Section format
Each chapter should begin on a fresh page. Chapter number and title of the Chapter, subheading of
the chapter should be printed at the center of the Page

 Sections and Sub-sections


A chapter can be divided into Sections, Sub-sections and Sub-Sub-sections so as to present
different concepts separately. Sections and sub-sections can be numbered using decimal points,
e.g., 2.2 for the second Section in Chapter 2 and 2.3.4 for the fourth Sub-section in third section of
Chapter 2. Chapters, Sections and Sub-Sections should be included in the Contents with page
numbers flushed to the right. Further subsections need not be numbered or included in the
contents.

 Table/Figure Format
 Table and figures should be numbered chapter wise. For example, the fourth figure in
Chapter 5 should bear the number Figure 5.4 or Fig.5.4.
 Table number and title should be placed above the table. Reference for Table and Figures
reproduced from elsewhere should be cited in the last and separate line in the table and
figure caption, e.g. (after McGregor [12] ).( Source of Table)

 Binding
The project should be hard cover bound in leather or rexin with the following colour specification:
 Colour Black
 Lettering All lettering should be embossed in gold.
 Blank sheets In addition to the white sheets (binding requirement) two white sheets

Should be put at the beginning and end of the Project.

 List of Figures and Tables


Two separate lists of Figure caption and Table titles along with their numbers and corresponding
page numbers against them shall follow the Contents.
