Meals are prepared by the coordinator and subject teachers to provide nutrition. The budget comes from faculty funds while awaiting sponsor donations. A Narrative Report On Feeding Program

The school based feeding program exists because of the needs of our severely wasted students
to be helped on their nutritional status. With the cooperation of the teachers, the feeding program of
Punta Princesa Night High School exists. There are 33 severely wasted students identified during the
pre-weighing scheduled last June with the help of our MAPEH Department. The meals are prepared by
the Feeding Program Coordinator together with the assigned Subject Teachers.

When a student weighs below her/his ideal weight, malnutrition prevails. Some of them will not
focus in listening to the class, or they will not even go to school because they lack money to pay for
their food. As a supplement aide for the student's nutritional requirements, the School Based Feeding
Program continues to cater recipients in order for them to reach the ideal body weight.

For the meantime, the budget is taken from the Faculty funds while waiting for the sponsors
and the Local School Board donations to arrive. The students are to be fed every week. During feeding,
health care practices such as hand washing and tooth brushing were also promoted.

Majority of the food items were bought in the wet market because it is way cheaper, that is
why most of the receipts are only acknowledgement receipts by the local vendors. The school provides
“Chicken Rice Porridge & Boiled Eggs”. The main ingredients are chicken breasts, eggs, ginger, spring
onions, salt, bulb, rice, Knorr Chicken cubes, carrots, and seasonings. The said program was effective
because most, if not all, severely wasted students became normal.
