Title : CLOSED LOOP SPEED CONTROL OF A CHOPPER FED

SEPERATELY EXCITED DC MOTOR USING PSPICE


Role : Team Leader

Responsibilities : Developed major part of the code using PSPICE.

Description : Using p-spice the chopper fed separately excited dc
motor is simulated and open loop speed is determined. Normally this speed falls as
the load torque increases. In closed loop implementation, whatever speed we gave
as a reference, the motor should attain that speed irrespective of change in the load
torque.
In order to achieve this, the error speed is applied to
the controller the circuit which is a P, P-I or P-I-D controller. This output of controller
is given as the control voltage to chopper which modifies the duty ratio of chopper.
