Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901. Disney became one of the best-known motion
picture producers in the world. He is particularly noted for being a film producer and a popular
showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design.
Disney is famous for his contributions in the field of entertainment during the 20th century. His
first success was through the series, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit which was created by the Disney
studio for Charles Mintz of Universal Studios. When Disney asked for a larger budget for his
popular Oswald series, Mintz refused and Disney had to quit. Later, Disney and his brother Roy
O. Disney started from scratch and co-founded Walt Disney Productions, now known as The
Walt Disney Company. Today, this company has annual revenues of approximately U.S. $35
billion. This succes is largely due to a number of the world's most famous fictional characters he
and his staff created including Mickey Mouse, a character for which Disney himself was the
original voice.
Disney won 26 Academy Awards out of 59 nominations, including a record four in one year,
giving him more awards and nominations than any other individual. He is also the namesake for
Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the United States, as well as the
international resorts in Japan, France, and China.
Disney died of lung cancer in Burbank, California, on December 15, 1966. The following year,
construction began on Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. His brother Roy Disney inaugurated
The Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971.

 Drama Comedy: comedy drama is a fun drama, a drama whose story is fun and
funny.

Tarigan (1993: 84-85) stated the conditions that must be met in a skit:
1. Comedy may play a serious subject and may also be a mild subject
2. Comedy plays the events that might and might happen (possible and probable)
3. Everything that comes from the character is not from the situation
4. The resulting cuteness is a kind of serious humor, cuteness that is not made up.

It can be concluded in the drama comedy that emphasizes the elements of pleasure

 Drama Tragedy: The main element in a tragedy is the storyline that is written
creates sad feelings for the reader.
Tarigan (1993) stated that there are requirements that must be met, namely:
1. A tragic play must be closely related or deal with a serious subject.
2. A hero or main actor in a tragedy must be an important person and a hero.
3. No strong belief will be placed on the change or "incident": all incidents
contained in the tragedy must be natural
4. Feeling sorry, sad, afraid are the main emotions in the tragedy.

In essence the tragedy drama builds a main figure that involves a conflict.

 According to Sumardjo and Saini (1991: 23) autobography is a biography that is
painted by the characters themselves or sometimes painted by others for the
narrative and knowledge of the characters.
 The advantage of autobiography is that small events that are unknown to others
because there are no experts can be revealed.

 News is information about a recently changed situation or a recent event.
 News is information that is published in newspaper and broadcast on radio and
television about recent events in the country or world or in a particular area of
activity.

Headline news is the main activity contained in newspapers or magazines or other


periodical publishing.
