Optionally Send Last Segment of Project Plan Outline Number as the WBS Code in Primavera P6
[20 : 29-Mar-2014]
Primavera P6 and Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management display the hierarchical relationships of
nodes within a WBS differently. The WBS code in Primavera P6 must be unique only within the parent
hierarchy and typically contains the last segment of the WBS path. Integration processing currently
populates the WBS code with the Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management task number. In Oracle
Fusion Project Portfolio Management, the task number must be unique across the entire project and by
default is set to the full outline number of the task. When displaying a node originating from Oracle
Fusion Project Portfolio Management, Primavera P6 in effect concatenates the full path of the node with
the full path of each parent node. The resulting value is excessively long and meaningless. In Release 5,
use the WBS Code Source integration option to determine the Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio
Management attribute used to create the WBS code in Primavera P6. Options are the task number
(current design), the last segment of the task outline number, or no value. If no value is exported from
Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management, then the WBS code source is derived in Primavera P6 and
can be manually edited.

Track a Project Resource Request over the Request Status Lifecycle [150 : 26-Mar-2014]
The project resource request has an overall status lifecycle. Initially, a project manager or resource
manger creates a project resource request in draft status, updates the request as needed, and submits
the request for fulfillment. The resource manager monitors submitted requests in open status and
searches for resources to fulfill the request. The resource manager then selects and proposes a
resource. The resource manager can either directly approve the resource to fulfill the request or submit
the proposed resource to the project manager for approval. Alternatively, the resource manager or
project manager can cancel a request before it is fulfilled. At each step of the lifecycle, the project
resource request has a distinct status that reflects the current stage. The request status provides

Use the Project Calendar and Requested Dates to Determine the Requested Hours per Day for a

Manage Target Utilization Percentages for Managed Labor Resources [280 : 26-Mar-2014]
An enterprise can establish an enterprise-level target utilization percentage for managed labor

The project manager specifies the assignment start and finish dates on a project resource request.
When the resource manager searches for resources to fulfill the request, the search process calculates
an available capacity score for each resource. The application uses the project calendar and the

per day. It also uses the calendar assigned to each resource to determine the resource's working days
and total available hours per day. The available capacity score for a resource is reduced if a resource is

Automatically Create Project Enterprise Labor Resources from HCM People Based on a Set of
Conditions [330 : 26-Mar-2014]
In collaboration with the resource management team, the project application administrator can define a

: 26-Mar-2014]
In addition to a resource card format and the master resource schedule Gantt chart, the resource
manager can review resource search results for a project resource request in a resource list format. The
resource manager can choose which columns to show in the list and sort the results based on a
particular column. The resource manager can evaluate resource search results on a resource list,
resource card, or master resource schedule Gantt chart. Resource managers can quickly switch
between views to get different perspectives of the resource search results.

Drill Down from the Project Resource Request Search Results to Review Resource Details [40 :
26-Mar-2014]
The resource manager views information about each resource that meets the qualification and
availability thresholds when searching for resources to fulfill a project resource request. If a resource
looks like a good candidate, then the resource manager can drill down on that resource and review more
details, including how the resource matches the individual requested qualifications, and the master
resource schedule for the resource. The resource manager can quickly access detailed information
about how qualified a resource is to fulfill a project resource request and whether the resource is
available. The resource manager can use this information to decide whether to propose the resource to
fulfill the request.

Notify Resource Requester Using Workflow when Resource Manager Proposes a Resource for a
Project Resource Request [50 : 26-Mar-2014]
The resource manager selects a resource to fulfill a project resource request and then submits the
proposed resource to the requester, who is typically the project manager, for approval. If the option is
enabled to use workflow to notify the requester when a resource is proposed, then the application
automatically notifies the person who requested the resource. The requester can then approve or reject
the resource from the workflow notification or take the time to review the proposed resource in detail.
Implementors can configure the application to automatically route a resource proposal to the appropriate
individual for approval. The project manager can quickly evaluate the proposed resource and act on the
proposal directly from the notification.

Review the Master Resource Schedule for Matching Resources [60 : 26-Mar-2014]
When the resource manager searches for resources to fulfill a request, the search results display a list
of resources who are the best matches. The resource manager can switch to the master resource
schedule view to see additional details about each resource's availability. The master resource schedule
is a Gantt chart that provides a graphical view of the existing project assignments and nonproject events
for each resource. These existing commitments reduce the available capacity of a resource to fulfill the
project resource request. The master resource schedule provides an information-rich graphical display
of existing project assignments and nonproject events for a set of resources. The resource manager
uses this information to focus on the best resources to fulfill a project resource request.
