ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The fundamental objective of this course is to deliver the skills, knowledge, and
expertise required for data analysis for research and publication. Specifically, the course
• Mastery of basic data analyses techniques using IBM SPSS, AMOS, Mplus& R
• A deeper understanding of the relationship among various multivariate statistical
data analysis techniques.
• The ability to fluently perform advanced multivariate data analyses and interpret
and present data analysis results.
MODULE DESCRIPTION
Module One (36 Hours, 10th June to 15th June, 2019) : The first module “introduction
to multivariate data analysis” using IBM SPSS will expose the participants with the basic
data analysis tools, covering data screening, descriptive statistics, mean comparison of
various types, exploration techniques, and some fundamental classification/prediction
techniques.
Module Two (36 Hours, 22nd July to 27th July, 2019): In this second module, the
course will deliver an understanding about an important topic “psychometric
assessment & mediation and moderation”. In this module, the focus will be on data
analysis practicalities related to scale validation, mediation and moderation analyses.
Module Three (36 Hours, 19th August to 24th August, 2019): In the third module,
“structural equation and multilevel modelling”, will help the participants to have a
working understanding of structural equation modelling and multilevel modelling
using Mplus and R.

PROGRAMME INTRODUCTION
COURSE OUTCOMES
This three-week certification course consisting of three modules will introduce a wide variety of
multivariate techniques and its extensions, which help the participants to handle complex
experimental and non-experimental data and modelling objectives. Throughout the course,
practical examples will be presented to illustrate key concepts. Thus, at the end of this course,
participants will be able to work with latent and observed variables at various levels and estimate a
wide variety of hypothesised effects. The exposure to the software programmes will facilitate the
modelling and estimation of very complex models of many types of easy and better interpretability
of the research outcomes. Also, this course will also orient and equip the participants to present
their study results in top-tier international journal publications.
This course is open for data analysts, faculty members, research scholars and those who are
interested in data analysis using machine learning tools in the fields of management, economics,
industrial, medical, and fundamental sciences. This course requires no prior training in probability
and statistics, though experience in these areas will be useful.
COURSE FEE
Note: The fee is to be paid in advance by DD drawn in favour of ‘Indian Institute of Management
Kozhikode’ payable at ‘Kozhikode’ (or Calicut) or by online transfer. The fee covers, in addition to
lodging, course materials, working lunch, and breakfast and dinner for residential participants.
PARTICIPANTS’ CERTIFICATION
Those who are completing all three modules (108 Hours) will be provided with the course certificate. In
the case of attending individual modules, the certificates will be issued based on the specific modules
attended.
PEDAGOGY
The course will be skill oriented and would emphasise hands-on data analysis using IBM SPSS, AMOS,
Mplus& R. The participants must bring their laptops with recent versions of the Windows Operating
system.
