Transportation piles to site: According to location and transportation conditional at site, piles will be delivered by Lorry
Crane from the casting yard.
Unload piles at site: Unload pile is strictly following site’s safety regulation. To convenience, piles will be placed on the
ground directly, however must avoid the cracking in the middle of piles by the way to put it in the flat ground. Depend
on the request of Consultant (or Owner), piling worker will mark on the piles body about 50 – 100 cm to confirm the
length by chalk or paint.
PILE DRIVING/INSTALLATION:
The pile installation system shall be capable of adjustment to provide an axial, non-eccentric application of the
installation force. Pre-cast concrete piles shall be used for this testing. Pre-cast piles 250x250mmx6m . shall be used
and shall be driven in vertical position. Piling rig or Excavator mounted Piling machine shall be used for installation of
any type of piles. The leader of the piling machine shall be at least 14m height. While shifting the piling machine the
leader shall be properly mounted on the machine and precautions shall be taken to maintain enough clearance while
working near the existing live line. Before beginning piling work, piling point shall be marked properly as per the
approved foundation drawing. Piles shall be driven to required depth as per design specification. While lifting piles,
precautions shall be taken to prevent the piles from getting damaged. The recommended hammer size shall be used.
Piles driven shall be set to depth or up to refusal according to the design provided for proposed test location piling
location and/or approved by Client. The pile should be driven within the allowed tolerances. Take the records of the
penetration rate at all times during driving.
Adequate time should be allowed for soil stabilization before testing Dynamic load testing (DLT) is carried out with two
identical bolt-on strain and acceleration transducers (sensor) attached to a section of pile. On concrete pile, the
sensors are connected to the pile with anchor bolts. The pile driving analyzer (PDA) will be used for testing. The pile is
then struck with a driving hammer or a separate drop weight. A hammer mass of about 1 to 2% of the test load is
generally sufficient. The generated compressive stress wave travels down the piles and reflects from the pile toe
upward. The stress waves, which are picked up by the transducers, are processed and automatically stored in the
computer for further analysis and reporting. The analysis is carried out using the signal matching program CAPWAP.
Pile and soil data are modeled and a response is calculated based on one dimensional wave equation theory. The
signal matching process utilizes an iterative method in which the results of each analysis are compared to the actual
measured pile behavior. Appropriate dynamic soil parameters are refined until a satisfactory match is achieved. The
mobilized static shaft and toe resistance of the pile can hence be derived. The signal matching program also provides a
prediction of the static load displacement performance of the pile on the basis of the refined pile and soil model.
