I am very excited to apply for the position of Associate Vice President, Program and Academic Quality as
advertised on your department website I am extremely interested in obtaining this position at Conestoga
College, where I can contribute to its focus on administration tasks and lead campus and professional service
activities. I would love to share my expertise and experience in education, research and development to ensure
integration of teaching technologies, inclusive learner-focused pedagogy and faculty development and
research within the School of Applied Computer Science and Information Technology as per its policies and
priorities.

I was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering at Amity University Dubai for
last 5 years (since September 2014). I am Canadian PR and have moved to Canada recently. I have joined the
Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Canada as a part-time Faculty. My academic training and over
10 years of experience working as an Assistant Professor, Visiting Research Assistant and Lecturer in various
organizations prepared me well for this position. My doctoral dissertation was conducted in consultation with
Dr. David Grace, University of York, United Kingdom as I was a visiting research associate at the Department
of Electronics in the University of York (Commonwealth Split Site Scholarship funded by British Council).
My doctoral work tried to explore the use of different soft computing techniques to solve spectrum
management issues (Cognitive Radio). It focused on specifically fuzzy logic and genetic algorithm to help
make the decision making processes in cognitive radio to improve performance and thus provide better QoS
provisioning. I have extended that work and I am doing active research in the field of Artificial Intelligence,
Smart Cities, Big Data, Data Visualization and the Internet of Things. You can review some of my

At Amity, I supervised around 20 undergraduate projects, 22 undergraduate thesis and 3 graduate Masters
(Students are considered actively supervised if they were under supervision for at least one semester - 4
Months of that year). I was actively involved with the Amity Training Department, which gave me rich
experience working with cross-functional and international teams and taught me the importance of building
trusted relationships. Through this role, I launched and expanded new research ethics training efforts to
promote research and development across departments and other universities as well.
