LETTER
Service Letter No. L279
October 10, 2019
TO: All Owners and Operators of Lycoming Piston Aircraft Engines
SUBJECT: Lycoming model designation for fuel injectors.

NOTICE: Incomplete review of all the information in this document can cause errors. Read the entire
Service Letter to make sure you have a complete understanding of the requirements.
Lycoming Engines’ naming convention for fuel injector model designations is identified in the
following table. The naming convention is intended to describe the general feature set specification of the
fuel injector and does not constitute the complete specification of the product.
For example: Fuel injector Lycoming Part Number 61M26404 has the new LFR Model Designation
“LFR-NNSH10”, meaning the fuel injector is a non-automatic mixture, non-enrichment, small regulator,
hose interface, with a size 10 bore.
Beginning in October 2019, fuel injectors shipped from Lycoming with engines or spare parts orders
will have these new model numbers displayed on the fuel injector data plate along with the existing
Lycoming part number. The Lycoming part numbers remain unchanged and customers should continue to
refer to the latest revision of Service Instruction 1532 for injector and engine applicability.
