INTRODUCTION

&
PHILOSOPHICAL
STATEMENT
INTRODUCTION
As an educator, it’s my job to ensure that students receive the necessary education and
lifelong advice to succeed in the real world. As a teacher, I want students to be able to
witness their own visions and dreams come true. My job is to execute my plans, visions,
and dreams as a teacher so that students can be led by example and execute their own
visions. I believe success first starts with a VISION and in order for that vision to prosper an
action must happen. I am a teacher who educates, gives positive advice, nurtures,
mentors, and serve as an advocate for all her students so they can become successful. I
will consider the minds of students and use proper techniques on a level that they would
understand and easily connect with within their age group. This classroom management

PHILISOPHICAL STATEMENT
Every child needs a positive classroom environment to learn. It’s important that I
consider the minds and the interest of all students. The curriculum will be
planned to fit each student auditory, visual, kinesthetic, and writing learning
styles to influence cognitive development. I believe that parent involvement is
key in every child’s growth and development. Their support, and nourishment, as
well as mine gives children the guidance they need to a successful school year. I
believe that establishing rewards, and punishments are essential for classroom
behavior and all students should take responsibility for their own actions. I
believe that every child should be included no matter their race, culture, abilities,
or socioeconomic status. Psychological, social, physical, and cognitive needs.
Kounin’s instructional management model demonstrates that my behavior also
affects student’s behavior. It’s important that I enforce “I Statements” instead of
“You” Messages to better accept and acknowledge students.

FIRST DAYS
Routines are important in establishing classroom environment. It’s
important that students have a clear and consistent daily schedule. It
provides an overview on how the day will go. However, the first
Cougar Daily Schedule day of class will go as such:

things up they will grab breakfast and socialize with their new

school day with the next group.

One way to communicate with students and parents

is by a newsletter. Creating a newsletter for the first
week of class is a great way to welcome students
back from a long summer; as well as showing
parents what will be happening during the first week
and upcoming weeks of school. You can also use
newsletters weekly, monthly, or every grading
period.

All About Me Form: Students are gifted in

technology. By using google chrome teachers can
create survey forms for students to answer and it by
pressing submit it send it directly to the teachers’
email. Having these forms allows me to know my
students individually and how to better
accommodate them.
Mailboxes can also be discussed during the
first day of class. While I am creating
relationships with my students. Giving them
their individual mailboxes to communicate
with me through letters, allows them to be
comfortable. Mailboxes can also be used for
turning in homework and assignments.

DISMISSAL: It’s very important that I know how

each of my students are getting home. It relieves 10x
the stress. Sometimes students won’t remember or will
know how they’re getting home. Communicating with
parents beforehand and attaching these transportation
cards to student’s backpack will assist them.

CLASSROOM
ENVIRONMENT
&
SAFETY
CLASSROOM BLUEPRINT:
Students develop and interact
socially when desk is placed in
groups of 4-6. It’s important that I
have at least 3 stations that students
can rotate from. (Library, Computer
Station, and Carpet Area)

SUPPLY BENS are a great way to

ensure that supplies are being put up
and in safe keeping. It’s also a great
area for someone can have a material
passer and pick-up.

CLASSROOM

they will get a card to be turned in at the end of each month for a prize.

job until instructed by the teacher.
Greeting students each day before they
enter the classroom shows them that
they’re welcome. This procedure
encouraging each student with what may
seem like simple gestures can motivate
them to want to learn.

STEPS TO
ADDRESS
MISBEHAIVORS
&
DISCIPLE
SYSTEM
Caught You Cards: When students are
caught doing the right thing, they will
receive cards to collect. At the end of each
month, students will turn in these cards for
treats and prizes. This can be a positive
reinforcement for behavior as well as
rewarding students for that behavior.

DISCIPLINE HIERCHY: The discipline hierarchy chart lists the 5 components of handling student behavior.

1. Students will receive a verbal warning about their behavior and what would happen if they continue doing the behavior.
2. Students will be asked to visit the cool down corner to reflect on their actions and fill out a form on how they will
improve/change their behavior.
3. Students will then be asked to give me any “Caught You” cards that they have received or loose time out of their recess time
as well as a color change to send home in their conduct folders.
4. I will directly contact parents either by phone or email to let them know of the behavior.
5. If all else fails, students will be sent to the principle office if all demands given have been used for further disciplinary
actions.

STUDENT
MOTIVATION
3 DAILY CLASS AFFIRMATIONS

1. I can LEARN
anything. Each day during the morning meeting,
students will have these 2 affirmations to say
out loud to themselves to remind them that
2. I can Be anything. they can learn and accomplish any task.
When students speak things into existence

3. I can KEEP trying they will become motivated to believe in it.

until I Succeed.

You can do anything you

Writing QUOTES and ENCOURAGING
STATEMENTS on the desk daily before put your mind to.
the students enter the classroom will give
them something to look forward to and –Ms. Wallace
think about throughout the day. When
students see, that teachers care about their
well-being they become more motivated
to learn.
STUDENT
ENGAGEMENT
The LIBRARY in the classroom will have
books that are in the interest of the students
to allow classroom engagement. Having a
class library allows students to read and
become motivated, engaged learners.
Students will be able to also take book
quizzes on the computers for points and
rewards.

Having a WORD WALL can be a visual

aid for students to actively engage in
learning new vocabulary. Using this during
the lesson and allowing it to be a hand-on
activity for the students keeps the students
on their toes.

Having POPSICLE STICKS in a cup with student’s

name on them will give an equal chance for all
students to participate. When I need, something done
or a question answered, I will grab a stick out of the
cup and choose whoever name is on the stick. If a
student doesn’t want to participate I will grab
another one.
