Development of the exercise of unit 1.3 and 2.1
Exercise 1
It seems that a snow storm is approaching, my God it is too cold and at the same time it
looks beautiful to see the snow fall, delicious to have a cup of hot chocolate with masmelos
in the company of your partner or family, but in these cold times it is It is important to be
prepared because it can be difficult to go out on the street.
Recommendations:
- Provide your home with food, accessories and water (at least three gallons of water per
person).
- Special items for babies, elderly people, pets and disabled family members.
- Make sure the heating of your home is in good working order.

Exercise 2
Hi Mom,
John and I had a great time in Ireland. Every day we got up early and took a long walk
around the country. When we returned, we usually had a big Irish breakfast that usually
consisted of two eggs, three slices of bacon, toast and jam. Usually, we asked for a cup of
coffee after breakfast: Colombian coffee, of course.
After breakfast we sometimes went swimming in the river. We often met children who
liked to swim there. They were very nice. At night, we almost always drank a few pints of
Guinness in the pub bar before going to bed. We always sleep well after that, we assure
you.

exercise unit 1.1

1. It seeks to have a broad vision: always in a time and space to react to risks. Look along
the path in front of you to see what comes in advance. Also do not forget to look back.

2. Identify the dangerous ones and plan your reaction. This can include a nearby work area,
a driver behaving strangely.

3. Slow down: when you drive too fast, you have less time to react. Slowing down will give
you more chance to act safely. You must watch for speed limit signs and obey them

4.Keep your space: if your car is heavy, you need space to stop or change direction. Keep a
safe distance on the car in front of you, usually a gap of at least two seconds. Pay constant
attention to the cars that are next to or behind.

5. Anticipate mistakes of other drivers: drivers on the road may be distracted, sleepy or
tired. By recognizing these signals you can avoid them. Exploring along the way allows
you to see the risks in front of other cars and avoid getting caught in a dangerous reaction.

6. Respect road conditions: when roads are wet and covered with fog, reduce speed. When
the brightness of the sun decreases visibility, slow down and give more space to other
drivers. Road conditions will rarely be ideal, so be prepared to adjust your driving
accordingly.

Letter

Dear Juana
I am writing to tell you how my life is going, since we have not communicated for a long
time. I tel you that now I live in the city of Medellin, I have married and I have a new job.
About my work, I want to tell you that I manage a hotel in a large hotel agency, I have 10
establishments in charge and 60 employees, my work schedule is from 8 am to 5 pm, at
which time I perform administrative and supervisory functions.
As for my routine, it is a little complex because I must visit the establishments every day
and ensure that everything is perfect and that good customer service is provided, I also
assign shifts to my employees. By Sonia Milena Cordoba

The hotel that I manage is near the center of the city of

Medellin, which works without problem, where we offer
comfortable, restaurants, soccer and pimpo courts, gymnasium,
and a large room for family events such as birthdays, children's
birthdays, and weddings, has romantic spaces for couples in
love.
Where 50 people arrive each day for days and others arrive,
because the attention is excellent and respected with the tones,
our boss is super strict for all the leaders who work in the hotel have to wear the uniform
until the end of the day, so that the hotel has a good image. By Ana Maria Zuleta

others, to make them happy and please at their
events, I like to feel empowered and this work

elegant that makes me feel beautiful. By Mayra
del mar Zapata
What I do not like about working at the hotel are
the strenuous working hours, getting up early
becomes exhausting and I also arrive home tired
to continue working at home. By Mayra del Mar Zapata

I know that perhaps you believe my job is time

consuming and demanding but that is only at the
beginning, I just have to get used to it. Besides,
you may say the salary isn't good enough, I
consider it to be fair though. By Armando
