Size:
The passport photo must be 35 by 45 mm (width & height).

Size of head for a person eleven years or older:


Width: from start of ear to start of other ear: minimum 16 mm – maximum 20
mm
Height: from chin to crown: minimum 26 mm – maximum 30
mm

Size of head for a person under the age of eleven:


Width: from start of ear to start of other ear: minimum 16 mm – maximum 20
mm
Height: from chin to crown: minimum 19 mm – maximum 30
mm

Background:
Photo must be of good quality and the background must be light grey, pale blue or white (one colour
only, no merging of colours). Uniformly lit, not over- or underexposed. No shadow on the face or
background and no reflection on the face.

Facial appearance:
Head uncovered (Head covering is permitted only for religious, philosophical, or medical reasons).
Face and eyes must be entirely visible.

Position:
Head facing forward, not tilted, shoulders straight, and no visible support. Eyes on a horizontal line.

Facial expression:
Neutral facial expression, looking straight at the camera with the mouth closed.

Eyeglasses:
Eyes entirely visible, fully transparent lenses. No distortion caused by reflection from the eyeglasses
and no shadow

Please note that for a child under the age of six all the above requirements apply except:
- eyes on a horizontal line, head not tilted to one side, and shoulders straight
- neutral expression; looking straight at the camera, and mouth closed
