Assignment 7579-301-2

Time Allowed – 3½ hours

Candidates are advised to read all the instructions carefully before starting work and to check
with their tutor/assessor if necessary to ensure that they fully understand what is required.
Candidates are expected to work safely at all times with regards to current legislation.

The candidate will be advised of the work area.

Candidates are allowed to have an additional ten minutes to read the assignment before
starting and to query with the tutor/assessor any points that are not understood. Drawing must
not commence during this period.

In this assignment the candidates are required to draw/edit a two bedroom villa, place
dimensions, create and manage blocks, hatch, add and edit text and produce a suitable
layering system. Five print space layouts are to be produced from the drawing as shown on
SHEETS 1 to 5 (Figures 18 to 22). The instructions for cheating this drawing are given as
follows:

1 From the suitable media provided copy the following files into the work area.

7579-301-2-BORDER
INNER WALL DETAIL
OUTER WALLS
V-COOKER
V-SINK

2 Execute the CAD software and start a new drawing based on the template file
7579-301-2-BORDER. Ensure that you are currently in drawing space mode.

3 Set the drawing space limits to 0, 0 and 12000, 8000.

4 Attach the drawing called OUTER WALLS as an external reference at an insertion point
of 0,0.

5 Create a layer called INNER WALLS with colour set to GREEN and insert on this layer he
drawing called INNER WALL DETAILS, using the explode option and at an insertion
point of 0,0.
6 Using appropriate 2D commands, draw and edit the inner walls according to the
specifications shown in Figure 5.

Dimensions not to be included on the drawing.
