Why is it important to be aware of deep cultural characteristics when we meet and interact with
others?
Raising awareness when it comes to various culture in this void of
modernization serves as a vital role for individuals that possibly attain not only for social
understanding but also for reaching a harmonious and a progressive society. In this
instance, it’s important for us to be more socially literate through having an adequate
awareness in terms of various cultures that exists in our society in order to avoid not
only misunderstanding but also to avoid discrimination to the culture they belonged.
In my perspective, it is important to be more aware to deep cultural
characteristics when we meet and interact with other people because this kind of doing
may serve as a leading starting point for avoiding something unnecessary behaviors that
against to their beliefs that culminates into a negative consequences. This is greatly
important to raise our awareness in terms of this kind of matter because we’ll not be
able to become a social literate if we are narrow minded and incapable to understand
their way of doing or even their flaws influenced by their culture. So in this case, how
are we going to socialize with them if there are still some questions that bother us when
it comes to their different culture? How are we going to achieve a good understanding if
we still have insufficient knowledge or low level of awareness when it comes to their
culture? How can we achieve an attainable and good relationship with others if we are
not capable to take some considerations beyond their culture? As they say, “words are
powerful”, so in order to interact with others properly without offending people, we
should be mindful and ponder every word that we say or action that we do with them.
Furthermore, this is also important because this kind of awareness may lead to have
good social understanding that come up with a harmonious society wherein every
individual understand, accept and respect their diversities in most especially for their
culture that promotes a peaceful and progressive community. In addition, this level of
promotes to eradicate discriminations and other social conflicts with others.
Therefore, raising awareness of deep cultural characteristics to
interaction with others serves as a vital role not only to attain good relationship and
eradicating cultural discrimination or any other cultural conflicts but also reaching a
harmonious and a progressive society.
2. How can you teach multi-cultural literacy in the classroom?

One of the major goals of education is to prepare learners for a decent and civic
life. Even we’re living in a diverse world, we still have the right to access quality
education wherein no one will be discriminated and isolated despite of different status
quo.
As a future educator, We can teach multicultural literacy education in the four
corners of the classroom through making our teaching and learning more attainable and
equitable by providing the educational needs of every learner from a diverse racial or
any ethnic backgrounds. Moreover, through teaching multi-cultural literacy, we’ll not
only aiming for exterminating bias and other forms of inequality but also on embracing
and promoting social justice in the classroom wherein every learner is greatly capable
to feel and stand out confidently without any form of discrimination despite of their
diverse backgrounds. In this instance, every learner have an opportunity to feel liberty
despite of his or her status quo specifically to his or her diverse background wherein
they can freely share their thoughts or any ideas in order to bolster themselves even
they’re facing diversities in the learning environment. As a future teacher we’ll going to
take some considerations for those diverse learners wherein I will always let on my mind
that no one will be left behind or in other words, no one will be isolated in the four
corners of classroom whatever their status quo is. Furthermore, through this I will teach
and enhance every learner to develop their full potentials and recognize every one of
them that having a diverse background will not be the way for having the sense of
exclusivities of learning or in short, we have to and develop and ameliorate their sense
of inclusivity.
Therefore, teaching a multicultural literacy is not only about recognizing and
considering diversities but also for aiming to foster different potentials from a diverse
learners in the corners the classroom wherein no one will be left behind.
