A reflection about Entrepreneurship

From this reflection paper, I am overwhelmed to discuss what I have learned

from the videos assigned for us to watch. Maybe before I came, the first think we think

after being an entrepreneur is only a gaining money or more profit. We never think how

to become an entrepreneur in the first place. In addition, I have heard several times and

I have learned little bit regarding this field, but I do not know the real experiences of

people who are involved in this kind of career. By those videos, I come to realize that

being entrepreneur is hard that really needs dedication and passion for enable to reach

the success.

The video presented Jack Ma’s 10 Rules for Success that summarizes up Jack

Ma’s experiences and steps he took to become a successful entrepreneur and the other

way around is one of the Filipina who become a successful one too. These people have

shared their own stories before they became successful entrepreneurs or innovators.

After this what I have watched, one of the thoughts I gained – success cannot be easily

get just in an instant. As they always say, it takes patience and perseverance before we

earn the fruit of labor.

We all know that acquiring and setting up business is hard because it need a lot

of time to conceptualize the products or services to be offer in community and especially

it needed a lot of money to be possible which one of the main rules to attain success is

being patience and dedicated. One of the successful entrepreneur that become one of

the richest man in the world, Jobs (2011) said that to make a dent in the universe. It
means the time we people had limited time on earth, so you must have an eager in

making actions to make a change a difference in the world we have today for the

betterment of the whole. Nevertheless, this rational was supported to one of the

successful entrepreneur came from China, Ma (2013) stated that you have to focus on

culture that aims to succeed and achieve goals beyond one’s benefit and others benefit.

Probably, it means that you should have the dedication to make your dreams into reality

with plans and strategies. I had realized that when someone who succeeded today have

failed many times before and it is part of being an entrepreneur. Jack Ma gave an

adage, “Get used to rejection”. This adage means when we failed, we stand up and

learn quickly. In addition, it employs that we should not be afraid to fail because failing

teaches us to become more firm and steadfast. It also means that integrity is important

when you are as were people are building a trust in you that vividly affect one person to

reach the top in business field as an entrepreneur. As to holding integrity, mainly you

will attain great excellence in the future.

With their experiences, ways and stories shared, I felt their happiness and

contentment of their success and willingness to share what they have, to aspire youth in

building dreams and to extend their hands to students like me who dreams of making a

difference in my own life and for others too. Therefore, I feel blessed because I grabbed

this opportunity to be not well equipped but to become knowledgeable and educated on

the steps should I take if I aspires an entrepreneur or innovator someday.
